I just checked my T-Mobile online account. On the "Usage" webpage, I saw 5GB high speed mobile hotspot for every line. It was automatically added by T-Mobile. I did not call or chat for this offer. My plan is Simple Choice. Not sure if it is YMMV.
My plan is also Simple Choice 10GB that came with up to 10GB hotspot. Data went to unlimited a year or two ago, but hotspot is the same as it has been.
I don't believe I've ever seen a 5gb data? Most common ones I've seen are 2.5 and 4gb
If before they switch you to unlimited data, you have 6gb high speed data before, you should have 6gb of free hotspot data after convert to unlimited.
So the title of this thread ("for every line") is confusing since for those that has 6GB or more hotspot data, the title sounds like they are removing data and limited it to 5GB/month instead(?) May want to update the confusing title.
My Simple Choice 2.5GB plan says "Mobile Hotspot. High speed Hotspot data included. Speeds slow at GB allotment." But does not say how many GB. I did get upgraded to unlimited 5G via the text they sent out, but my plan still shows 2.5 GB of 4G LTE and Unlimited 4GB LTE smartphone data.
Enable hotspot settings on your phone (may need to hunt around in the settings). Your phone should then give you the network name and password, which you can use to log into the network with other devices.
