As someone who works for them, I'll add some details about uBreakiFix. We have a 90 day nationwide warranty for repairs that does NOT cover accidental damage if you drop and crack your phone. When we do repairs on Samsung/Apple OEM/Google devices such as in a screen repair or battery, we use OEM parts and adhesives, as well as press pads, so when you get your phone back it should be water resistant still, especially for Samsung's.

I took advantage of the deal last year. I'm still using the phone. I had zero issues.

UBIF replaced screen my s21 ultra in less than an hour. Picked up and the phone wouldn't recognize my sim card. Told the store about it and all they said was "don't you have a warranty".

I eventually shipped the phone to Samsung after not wanting to deal with UBIF anymore. Per Samsung the sim card reader was FRIED - the ubif dummies probably didn't discharge properly before repairing the device.
Did you have to pay twice? Once to UBIF and a second time to Samsung? If not, how did you get Samsung to waive the second repair charge?

I went onto the site and followed the instructions. I was verified w/ id.me and Samsung shows that I should get the discount "Congrats! You are eligible to proceed with a discounted repair. Click Start Repair Service below to continue."

After completing the process and going into UbreakIFix they said that it was full price and no discount reflected. They said there was nothing they could do and even called the owner. Very rude employees. Location: 169th and Center in Omaha. THey said they could do nothing about it and sent me back to call Samsung. I called samsung and after an hour on the phone was able to recreate the process. Headed back to UbreakIfix and have the same result. This process has some serious flaws and neither of the companies are willing to help.

Total wasted time - 4 hours. No phone fix.
My suggestion for you- on the second part where you were completing the process scroll down and just choose the option to ship it directly to Samsung repair center. You get a free 2 day prepay label to ship your phone. I rather have Samsung official repair center fix it than UBIF for the exact same $50 price without all the politics and time wasted with UBIF's incompetence. Also going direct with Samsung repair gets you a $20 coupon as well

This is insane! Samsung Customer service is useless, and the UBreakIFix staff won't honor the offer without a claim/conformation from Samsung. I scheduled with 2 different stores, never cancelled, just rescheduled with the second store and they both said they only received a regular appointment without any information about an offer, and they will have to charge full price. Any ideas how to resolve this?

I had an appt at UBIF today (6/6) but had to cancel due to an emergency. I was able to go on the Samsung website and cancel the appointment, and reschedule a mail-in repair instead. According to the fine print, the promotion ends today, so I'm hoping since I scheduled it today I will qualify. I have the UPS mail in label, but if I mail it out tomorrow, would I still qualify for the $49.99 repair? SS put a hold on my card for this amount and I'm mailing it in tomorrow. Hopefully once they receive it, they won't hit me with a higher repair charge.

Also what is this talk about a $20 coupon/voucher? I haven't seen anything anywhere about this.

I'd be careful about the cancellation, it removes the promo price as confirmed by many on this thread.

The coupon for $20 accessories comes after a day of yourb repair.

I did NOT get charged for the portion repaired by samsung. I explained to them the entire issue of the sim not working only after the UBIF repair, but I bet they just treated under the limit manufacturing warranty policy.

If they had tried to charge me then I would've gone to UBIF and have them refund me the fee.

Thanks for sharing. Was that a number you called Samsung at? Did you also have to request a supervisor escalation or override on the repair cost? Thanks for sharing

When you do the Mail in it Option the website should be giving you the price and request a credit card for the hold before it generates the shipping label.

Say the charge you more than the $50 after repair you can always call them up to get the extra amount refunded easily. You always have your credit card company dispute as a last option

You just contact samsung tech support via one of their methods on their website - I have a s21 ultra, a pretty new phone, that is still under manufacturer limited warranty so as I said I think they took the easiest route and treated like a manufacturing defect.

I am unsure how the process would look if you had an older phone like the s8, but i think no matter what it starts with trying to get UBIF to take responsibility and contacting samsung and finding out what they will/will not do. I bet if I had contacted UBIF corporate then I definitely would've expected UBIF to do something, but I just didn't want to deal with them and knew in the end the phone would need to go back to samsung.

contact samsung via chat and they told me my ecoupon was expired on May 31. I had my repair on June 1 and they sent me the expired ecoupon. They said they will send the new one.

Just like to share my story: I first called Ubreakifix to see if they would honor the promo and they basically told me yes only if you showed a valid ID. Rather than not risking it, I canceled the appointment and was able to do the Samsung mail-in instead. Printed the 2-day shipping label and sent it to Samsung. A couple of days after they received it, I got notified the device was repaired and they shipped it back using the same 2-day shipping.

The device came back in a different box than I shipped it in as and was padded with the invoice that the total repair was $50 plus tax. A new screen was installed and the invoice also said they replaced the fingerprint sensor and the receiver mesh due to touchpad and fingerprint sensor failure. To my surprise, they didn't charge extra for these things and the invoice said it passed all tests. I also got texted a $20 coupon code on the day it was delivered to my surprise.

So overall, glad I sent in the device to Samsung repair. My account had an EDU email but I couldn't view any of the emails so I had to get all my updates via text which worked. The coupon code was also texted to my number.
