People are gonna crap on Newegg for their bad return policy (which has improved recently) but if I was out in the market for a monitor I would buy this without thinking twice.
Never had an ips panel. Is this the one to get? I heard that ips is eye candy but all my monitors have been VA and TN. Thanks!
IPS panels tend to have the best viewing angles and among the best color reproduction, but the tradeoff is poor contrast. So the difference between the darkest and brightest things on screen will be markedly less compared to a VA panel -- unless the IPS panel also features full-array local dimming... but you aren't getting one of those for anywhere near this price.

Thanks, I really hate light bleed. If something is meant to be dark then it should. I'm mainly looking for a gaming monitor.
There's reviews on bad light bleed on dark screens. Can anyone confirm or deny?

If you want blacks to actually be dark, I'd suggest avoiding IPS displays all together. The "IPS glow" (I think that's what it's called) is no joke. IMO, It's terrible. Dark scenes are dominated by a gray haze. I've used several different IPS displays and they all have it. Aside from that, they're awesome. It's just that that one issue is seriously annoying, though maybe it doesn't bother everyone.

Could recommend a monitor with deep blacks? I own the monitor in this deal and I don't like the ips glow.
I bought this few month ago from scalper egg and had bad flicker issue but was able to return it without any issue. I would put in few extra $ and go with either LG or Dell nano ips monitors instead.

Sure enoughβ¦ it arrived May 14th, lol. I think they bloat the delivery dates a bit just in case, but I'm guessing supply comes in regularly π
Great monitor.
