Same. I was really curious why it would only be available for "Ship to Store" instead of Home Delivery.
Anyway, went ahead and place an order since I missed out on the i5 deal for $430.

I assume that the RAM is soldered on there with no possibility of upgrading?
also... the Best Buy page says that there is no front facing camera... that's gotta be a typo, right? (because i do see a tiny camera on the top bezel...
Thanks!
Anyway, I think it's a good deal considering the previous 713 $200 off deal last week since this one is $100 cheaper to start. I bought one and free delivery to home. Wish free delivery to store was faster so I could pick up sooner.
Pros for both: both run Crostini well (ie. Linux apps, like VS Code). Cons: both this and the ASUS have a bit outdated kernel that does not allow to run VMs with KVM. But for 99% this does not matter.

My two primary concerns are the emmc and ram(only 4gb). I do realize that it's only a sub-$500 chromebook and I only intend to use it on vacation travels. However, 4gb seems low, especially if I have a dozen or so tabs open. oh well... I guess I'll see when ti arrivs at the store.
I assume there is no way to somehow upgrade this to a real SSD?

But loading Android Studio, VS Code, etc etc was a pain (VS Code itself works ok for small node projects), but IMO also due to slow eMMC. I bought Chromebook primary to sell old macbooks and thus have a spare (non-Windows) laptop for browsing and for a kid at low cost (it looks like cheap < $300 Chromebooks are quite easy to sell used, but I have not tried personally). I'd leave the laptop (due to nice screen, ok keyboard and ability to charge from apple 20w usb-c charger at home or in a car) if it had SSD.
I have checked repair videos - it looks like most recent models (including Acer and my ASUS) have eMMC soldered.

The screens are night and day, the Acer is a 170 nit dull display, bought one excellent for $235, this Acer uses a 1440p 400nit very color accurate display. 4gb of ram for a chromebook isn't the same as windows, it's all 95% of users will need. The i3 also smokes the m3. The huge difference here is the speakers, the Asus is nice and loud, good quality, the Acer sounds terrible to be blunt, worst speakers I've heard on a laptop.
Maybe it's delivered to the store along with hundreds other items on their weekly delivery day without added cost as opposed to ship one box directly to your home. Maybe.

That camera is specifically for spying on you, you're not allowed to use that one, sorry.
