Gotta say it's better than I expected.
I recently moved and used to have a 5.1 setup that I enjoyed but sold it. In my new place I don't really have the room for a full surround setup. For the last few months I've been in the market, but didn't want to spend as much as my last system.
The dialogue in movies comes across great. The sub bass is way better than other sound bars with wireless sub I've been around. It booms well!
The "EQ" is pretty basic. It's not a proper equalizer as it has just 3 modes: movie, music, and news. Movie carries the most bass, music just seems to turn the sub down, and news it's pretty much off. To be honest I like the simple setup. My last setup had a proper Yamaha EQ and I pretty much only used 3 of the custom profiles anyways. This takes the fuss out.
It's good for movies, music, sports (I'm an avid hockey fan) and video games; and like others have pointed out, if you are currently limited to the speakers in your TV you'll be happy. My TV has decent speakers for a TV, it's a Sony XBR-X850C. Even if you have an expensive TV this will be an upgrade in most cases.
It really does seem to be a $300 soundbar for $150.
Thanks for the post hamer, bit on it and I'm happy.
