Volt is their hybrid, electric and internal combustion. Bolt is plug in EV only for power.

Bolt is not eligible for the $7500 Federal Tax Credit anymore due to GM hitting the 200,000 vehicle threshold. There are a couple of proposals floating around including $7,000 credit for manufacturers over the prior cap and up to $12,500 for US union produced EVs (which the Bolt would qualify for).

Basically the support falls on party lines, unless it can be worked into a reconciliation bill or they blow the filibuster it's not happening.

Edit: just for clarity, didn't want to get the politics argument going on this more just a realistic view of whether the credit will get added to make this a much better deal.

Stopped at my 'authorized' dealer for Costco.
2021 hatchback with a few amenities...
(Don't have a relative/friend that works for GM.. would have saved me $15-20/month)

Lease 30k, $1300 down (first month + all taxes and fees) with all incentives available inclui Costco)

$325/ month.

Uhh...no
Uh....no.

Yes, the well-hated BoA. 1.97% net (incl discount) for 5 years on ~ $24k; the only down I put was the balance on my trade in which was about $7k IIRC.
If I have around 12+ months remaining on existing auto loan with BOA (around 3%), is it still good to re-finance? What kind of rate could be expected now, if I refinance ?

People get a grip. 6 out of 65,000 vehicles caught on fire. You have more of a chance of roasting yourself in ICE vehicles.

'17 owner here. Love it. 6 out of 65,000. I'll take my chances.
Sonata owner here, only 3000 engine fires Smilie

It's up to you to search but as I said PFCU is generally my go-to for cheaper rates. They are 1.79 for a 2020 or newer and 2.39% for everything else. ("as low as" meaning it depends on your credit).

Without more details you'll have to run the amortizations yourself to determine how much you'll save, but it probably won't be much. the exact amounts depend on your current amortization but a $10k loan for 2 years with the only difference being the rat - 3 vs 1.79%, the lower rate saves you a whopping $127.

Those thinking buying an EV should not rely on the car's rated mileage range as it does not reflect realistic road driving conditions. Better use about 60%-70% of the manufacturer mile range as a realistic range.

For instance, for the Bolt EV about 150-180 miles would be a safe more reliable realistic range.
Its 259 manufacturer mile range is on a flat road with one small person in the car, doing 55mph, with no A/C, no lights, no wind, no radio, no start/stop driving etc. It's an ideal and unrealistic range.

Also to fully charge this Bolt using 120V it would take about 65 hours (4 miles /hr), and using 220V it would take about 11 hours (25 miles /hr).

So, think long and hard if an EV fits your lifestyle/living/driving requirements before you buy one.

Even at my worst with the recalled 2017 which gets less range than this I still wouldn't get under 200 miles. Maybe your number is realistic if it's freezing cold and you're using the heat.

Remember that chevy did the shell game. Only june 1st was the 12k rebates and the costco. After than they lowered the rebates to 10k, so really it was only meant to boost it by 1k. And yes all the dealers but one in my area are charging full msrp. They have been doing the shell game for 3 months now, all want $27k for a few optioned LT, no matter the rebates/discounts. Unless i want to drive 100-150miles...
June 1 was the magical day for Bolt buying Costco members…I ended up getting $19,200 in rebates. $40,185 car out the door (tax, tags, etc.) for $25,000.

Do you own one? I can easily get 200+ miles. I live in Portland

For those looking at leasing the main incentives should be

4K or 5K "Limited Term Bonus Cash" 4K for LT , 5K for premier
$1500 "Loyalty for Retail or Lease" for those who own /lease a GM vehicle
$1000 "Lease Bonus Cash"
$3000 Costco

Various other $500 incentives for Military / First Responder / Teacher / College grad.

Am I missing any ? Looks like June 1 really was the day for incentives.
