I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

I remember i had a sapphire (non preferred) which I closed a while back, but not sure its been more than 24 months back.
how can i confirm on that?
EDIT
Checked on CreditKarma and it looks like I may have closed it in Sept 2020
would that disqualify me from collecting the bonus if I get approved for the card?
Did you earn a bonus on your old Sapphire card? If yes, then you need to wait 48 months from the date the bonus was posted on your account. If no, you are eligible for this 100k bonus.
24 months is not a period of time that has any significance, for any reason, when applying for a Sapphire card.
...
With regard to the person's specific question, 24 months isn't applicable as you say.
However, for the general case, the period of time of "24 months" does have significance when applying for a Sapphire card in the context of Chase's 5/24 policy.
I got CSP last week for 80K bonus . Just called to see if they would up my bonus to 100K. Frist rep said nope. Called again and asked for a manager. After some back and forth she said "let me see what I can do" and then 5 minutes later "you are good to go." I hope she didn't say that to just get rid of me. YMMV.
I haven't gotten them to match it. Got rejected 2 times now...
I am showing preapproved for the card. Is it possible to open the credit card account in morning at the branch and use it in the evening for $4000 transaction?? I am not sure if i have to wait for the physical card in the mail before using it ?
You have to somehow get the card number to use it, but if the transaction requires the CVV code, then you are out of luck. See this link for getting the card number:
All useless info. What's needed is when the prior sign on bonus posted to your account.
Separately, Credit Karma is great; just not for the purpose you described.
You can check your old account first few statements to find out when the bonus was posted (statement issue date). Chase keeps 7 years of old online statements on their portal even if the account is closed, assuming you have other Chase accounts or cards.

Any ways to get referral bonus plus this offer.. i read that you get extra applying at branch for additional 50 grocery credit.. trying to linked them together and waived 1st year AF
I have a legacy Sapphire no fee card. I havent had a sapphire bonus in 4 years. Is it worthwhile to convert my sapphire to Freedom (I already have the Freedom Flex) and sign up for this? Is there any reason to hold on to the no fee Sapphire?
Went to local branch today. Rep said they had a meeting today about the 100k bonus being active in branch now. So I got approved and am getting the 100k bonus and waived 1st year fee. No grocery benefit. Rep said if I got a referral it would come as a link and I would need to apply online and get only 80k bonus and no waiver of annual fee.

There is no reason to keep the plain sapphire if you're eligible for the sub.

Did you physically see their screen with the offer bonus on it? I doubt it is active in branch yet. I called yesterday and it was not.

You can call CS and ask for expedited shipping of your card and it will arrive within 3 days.

I just called CSR and they mentioned you should not have any Sapphire card to get the bonus/promotion, even the link refers the same info.
