I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

If you had received the bonus for your CSR in the past 48 months, you are not eligible even if you downgrade it to freedom
Is there a number to call to see if you are eligible, I can't remember if its been 48 months?

Send a secure message from your chase portal or you can go back through your statements and see when you got the bonus points posted

In response to the gift card question:

Visa AND MC gift cards purchased during Staples no activation fee sale counted toward my Chase Business Ink promo spending requirement! I believe it would work for ANY Chase card.

I HIGHLY recommend adding a small item to each gift card purchase..... For some reason the even dollar amount will trigger the fraud department to either call to verify or LOCK your account until you call them to get it unlocked.

BTW - If you register each of your debit gift cards online AND assign a PIN number ----- you can take those cards into a Lowes Home Improvement store and pay your Lowes credit card payment!! I used 7 $200.00 debit gift cards to pay off my refrigerator purchase! I got the 5% off for originally charging the refrigerator to my Lowes card - the gift cards purchased at Staples applied to my promo spend requirement - I also earned 5% cash back from Chase for all Staples purchases. Win-win-win!!

You would keep all those points as Ultimate Rewards, you just wouldn't have access to all the transfer options and perks that the CSR gives you. That's a lot of points, you could transfer to a travel partner that you frequently use before downgrading? And yes, you can downgrade the CSR even with already having a Freedom Flex. There's people that have multiple Freedom cards from downgrading multiple times through the years.
Yes I understand that I would lose the CSR perks obviously, but what do you mean by transfer options? I'm under the impression that Ultimate Rewards are transferable to the same partners no matter where they were earned (whether through a Freedom card, Sapphire reserve or sapphire preferred). Is that not the case?

Just do not get too excited about redeeming your miles for flights. I booked a return flight MOW->FRA->MIA this June for miles from United. MOW-FRA flight was abruptly cancelled for that day, but flights the day before and the day after were available. For paying customers, but not for "freeloaders" like me! For me, the closest flight was 1 week away, since it has to be "redeemable for miles". Imagine being stuck in a foreign country for an extra week with your job expecting you to start the next day! After that, the entire idea of the "mileage bonus program" seems iffy to me.

I went into the branch and the guy there didn't know about it either. After I told him about the offer, he called a support number and they confirmed that the 100K offer will be there automatically, even though everything says 80K.

You are correct. UR points all transfer at the same rate under the travel partners program, regardless of which card you are using.

BTW, there are three Freedom cards: Freedom Flex, Freedom Ultimate and plain Freedom. You can downgrade to a Freedom Flex and Freedom Ultimate. I don't know about downgrading to the Freedom, I think it's the earlier edition that is grandfathered in and can't be signed up for. You can own one of each type (that is if you already had an old Freedom account, like me), but I don't know if you can have multiples of one type.

Just came back from the branch. Got approved and here are the perks:
100,000 points (The screen showed 80,000 but then the employee pulled up a flyer that was circulated within the employees that says 100,000 points.)
Waived first year's annual fee
$50 grocery credit.
Whole process look less than 20 minutes. I already have the Freedom Flex.

I just sign up in bank and the banker was clueless. The offer I signed up is for 80,000.

It definitely was not an email. More like a web page.

Anyone know when or if the referral link points will be updated to reflect 100k?
