I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Do I need to spend $50+ in one transaction for the grocery credit? Or will multiple smaller transactions qualify?
Multiple transactions apply. They give you up to $50 total back no matter the number of transactions.

Data Point - Downgraded CSR to Freedom on June 11. Checked Chase app and can see the ability to apply for CSP. Went to branch and rep did not see CSP offer on my account. Will try again after 4 business days passed since downgrade.

Finally got my approval email. Weird, they didn't approve me instantly. $12.5K current limit on a Freedom card, credit score about 800, been with Chase for 16 years and zero late payments. AMEX is my highest limit at $25K, so kinda curious to see what Chase gives me on the new Sapphire card. Thanks OP!
how long did it take you? I applied last Wed and haven't heard anything yet.

This is exactly the problem that I'm having.

I did a PC over the phone on June 5, went into a local branch on June 12. Banker can not see the offer in branch, and I'm unable to see the offer within the Chase app.

Can you please let me know where you were seeing other people saying this? I'd like to go read if other have found solutions.

Thank you.
*UPDATE* For anyone having issues with a branch not being able to apply for you!

I went into another branch today, and the banker had the same issue - he was unable to apply for the Sapphire Preferred when logged in to my account.

He called representatives at Chase and confirmed that I am completely eligible for the 100,000 point bonus, but I would need to apply online AS A GUEST. This is the only way the application currently works if you are experiencing this system glitch.

I applied as a guest and was informed that my application needed further review.

I immediately called customer service (1-800-432-3117), told them that I was looking to have my application reviewed to see what information might be necessary (you may need to confirm information or you may need to shift credit around). I was connected to another department that was able to look into the application status and see what information was necessary. As I expected, I simply needed to move credit around between a few of my Chase cards. After that, I was immediately approved with expedited shipping of the card.

NEXT STEP: The banker that I worked with told me that when I am approved, I can go back to the branch, speak with him, and he can call Chase and have the additional branch perks (waived first year AF and $50 grocery credit) added to the card since I was unable to apply in branch due to a system glitch.

I will follow up to confirm that this works.

20000 points is worth at least $250, making the difference $105.
but you are paying the annual fee applying online and no grocery credit. so you just gave back 14,500 in points.

looks like the branch is the way to go since 100K will be rewarded. so a moot point.

Yes, the hypothetical is if for some reason the extra 20k doesnt follow through and it's 100k alone vs 80k, free first year, and $50 grocery.

Just went to the branch. They couldnt find the grocery credit on the phone, but did when entering my info in the system.

Awesome! Was the branch able to provide you any confirmation of the perks? (I've seen where people are getting approved for 80k and then a 20k bonus will be added after).

Anyone apply in branch and elect electronic delivery of whatever documents you signed? I haven't received any email and can't find anything when logging in. My new card does show up though.

Yes, "I assume you've heard of the great deal being offered right now" - 100,000 with $4k spend in the first 3 months, which will arrive in two installations as you've described, 80k + 20k, first year AF waived. Didn't mention the grocery credit, but I believe that's still part of the deal.

So a lot of people have been saying you need to wait 30 days after canceling a Sapphire card before reapplying, but that's WRONG.

I had a basic Sapphire card (no annual fee one) that I immediately canceled when I saw this deal. I canceled on June 4, and I went into the branch today and got approved for the CSP. The banker had to call in and confirmed that the extra 20K point will come automatically. I wasn't instantly approved, but the banker called in and the rep on the phone just wanted a verbal confirmation of my income and rent, and then I was approved. I was also able to get them express ship the card 1-3 business days at no charge.

Any suggestions on meeting the spend?

Apparently, visa gift card brought from Kroger didn't count towards the 4000...(i thought it does but it doesn't ).

It's my personal experience....i got this one for my wife and asked her to get some visa debit gift cards......we were surprised that it didn't count towards the 4000 spend.....even though total spending shows over 4000 but without the 800 we spend in visa gift cards
