I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

In this case it is a family member I am looking to refer. So 20K points is worth $200 ? vs $145 (95+50) for applying in branch.
So you are paying $95 to give your family member $200? Will they at least give you your $95 back? If not, I'd pass.

Has anyone (who has the Sapphire Reserve) applied and got accepted? Or will they just assume you are applying because of the bonus and reject you since the points/dollar are inferior to the CSR?

I tried to apply for another Chase card a year ago and they rejected me because Chase only extends credit up to 50% of your income right?

so the normal offer they show will be 80k bonus. They were able to find the 100k bonus in the news section on their machine, and they showed me the 100k offer. I would go back and ask them to check any recent news or announcements and they should find the 100k offer.

I see.. I went ahead and applied with the 80k offer because the banker called their credit card department to confirm that it was indeed 100k until July 17th. Do you think the system will know or do you have to specifically apply with that 100k offer?

I think you're our lucky winner! The 10th person to say branch only has the 80k offer even though everyone is saying it's 80k + 20k in branch with waived annual fee!

You either do the referral link on-line or you go in to the branch to apply. There is no way to do both.

You can generate a referral link for yourself here - https://www.chase.com/referafrien...epreferred
Which is a better deal? Referral or go to branch?

Chase's rule is generally 1 Sapphire card total per person so you'd have to change the regular sapphire or the CSR to something else like a freedom to get a CSP.

It is generally 50% but not a hard rule. I've gone from ~30% to 60% on a new card before. If they feel it's too much credit, you can call and ask them to move around the credit between cards.

7-10 is a rejection. Call them and ask why. Sometimes it's just verification of personal information and then you'll get approved. Sometimes, it's a hard deny.

Wait 2 business days after you applied. Call Chase Reconsideration Line 1-888-270-2127 to find out why. Sometimes Chase might refuse to grant you more credit and reject your application. You can resolve it by moving your credit limit from another card to the Sapphire card. Good luck!
