I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Any idea if you have to have a offer on your account/online profile, for this to work in the branch? My last bonus was with a statement that closed on 7/20/2017. Do I have to wait for July 21st to apply? Card was downgraded long ago.

If you were approved yesterday, the answer is "no".
If you are still pending approval, then I suggest that you immediately call Chase's Reconsideration Line (888-270-2127) and ask them that question. There are no data points at this time that suggest the decision will go one way or the other. It's a case of YMMV.
If you are able to cancel online, I recommend that you wait at least a few business days for your application to clear Chase's system before doing the in-branch application. But don't wait too long, there are rumors that this promotional deal will end on July 17. https://travelsort.com/100k-chase...-fee-2021/
This is only true if you've got very little credit in the first place.
What's at play here is utilization.
If you've got a $4000 balance reported, and you have $100,000 in available credit across all your cards- nobody cares and that won't hurt your score at all, and paying it off early is pointless (arguably worse if you are otherwise able to get returns on the free temp loan each month....also worse if you always do it to every card in full since 0% utilization isn't good either).
If you've got a $4000 balance reported and you only have $10,000 in available credit across all cards, it will hurt you because it'd show 40% utilization, so pre-paying a fair bit before closing makes sense in that case.
Yup.... $4k isn't going to do squat to my score but to someone only carrying $15k credit, it sure will.
Went to the branch today and was told that the bonus is only 80k point on branch, and 100k online only.
Your branch is ill-informed. Whether that is a systemic issue (corporate inability to manage information flow), a management issue (lack of supervision), or an employee issue (lack of initiative) is unknown. IMO, it's a combination of all three.
Every SD'er that signed up in branch after the start of this promotion has reported receiving the 100K bonus after reaching the 4K spending threshold, even the ones who thought they were signing up for an 80K bonus and even the ones who were told by their banker that they would only be receiving an 80K bonus. If you don't get the 100K bonus after signing up in-branch, you would be the first.
However, much as there has been significant misinformation about when the program started and its details, there is a similar problem about when it will end. So, it is entirely possible that the 100K bonus program will end without warning.
Doesn't elicit much confidence in Chase's banking operations, does it?
Does anyone know if you can refer others with no annual fee chase sapphire card and get the bonus?
If I am able to, I might change my CSP to no annual fee and make sure I can refer it to my family and friends then downgrade it to freedom later and reapply with the 48 month rule. If the referrals don't work with no annual fee card then it's not worth getting that..
I downgraded from CSP to Freedom Unlimited over 1 year ago. I tried the referral page and I cannot create referral link for my friend to sign up CSP. Only the 2 Freedom cards referral. I think you can only do referral on the card family you currently have. Maybe you can keep your CSP for another year and refer your friend to get 20k points which is worth $200.
From what I understand (someone correct me if I am wrong), you can only do product change after 12 months. If you downgrade your CSR to Freedom, you will need to wait 1 year before you can do product change again.
FYI. For those debating whether to do this in branch, I did it in branch and all the paperwork only showed 80k points (and my online Chase profile only showed 80k points) after a $4000 spend, but I just hit that spend limit and my points summary shows that I will get 100k points. The person at the branch did not do anything special to my application (and did not even know about the 100k points offer). As others have said, it is all automatic in the Chase system. So go to the branch and get your annual fee waiver + grocery credit + 100k points.
Just bypass the ignorant banker's information and apply in branch. There is only one unique offer in the meantime and it is what we have been discussing about in this thread.

Depends on your definition of squat. I don't even like a 10-20 point drop which 4k will do even if you have 100k credit limit. I enjoy looking at a perfect credit score. It also depends on what balance you typically carry. If you always have a revolving balance of a few thousand, 4k won't change anything. But if you typically only have a couple hundred, a spike of 4k will drop your score even if you have 100k credit limit.

You don't have to have the $100K offer in your account for you to apply online or in-branch.
If your last bonus appeared on the statement of 7/20/2017, it's more than likely that the bonus was awarded earlier than that. Bonuses are awarded on the date that Chase processed the purchase that met the minimum purchase threshold (not tied to statement dates).

I've done these offers numerous times, never carry a balance and have never seen even close to a 10 point drop. I was an AU on my father's card and he had like a $14k balance and that did drop me around 15-20 though.
How long does it take to post the 100k points after you spend $4,000? Been waiting a week now!
The bonus showed up as "earned" the same day that my purchase that met the $4K spend requirement was processed. However, the fact that it showed up as earned doesn't necessarily mean that it was available for redemption. According to others, their UR accounts were credited with the 100K when their billing statement came out.
Note: You can't rely on the dates activities are posted on the Chase account. Chase has a bad habit of backdating its activities. For example, it will report a credit for a refund for a disputed purchase on the date of the original purchase, even though the actual refund was processed weeks later. Chase drives me batty with some of their unprofessional accounting practices.
BTW, you should double-check your Chase account to make sure you were properly credited for all the purchases. Remember, the $95 annual membership fee doesn't count. Nor do cash equivalents count (some gift cards fall into a gray area, so be careful about that).
In general, creditors take 50% of your income as the overall credit limit across the board. If your income is 100K, for instance, and you have 15K limit on card A, 18K on card B, 20K on card C, the combined credit is already more than 50% of your income. In such case, creditor may deny any new credit application from you. While the creditor is not willing to extend any new credit to you, a common practice is to reallocate your credit line from an existing account to a new account and get the new card approved. This is why calling the reconsideration hotline after receiving the denial letter is crucial and practical as many issues are negotiable. Of course, there are many other factors that affect the decision whether or not your application can be approved.
How do they know the real income? I have only told them (and any other banks) only half my income.

Also, if you are currently a Chase customer, and you run into a problem with the in-branch application being blocked by the system; then have the banker create a new profile for yourself. That trick seems to have worked for others.

It's rumored that this offer will end on July 17, so I wouldn't wait beyond that to apply in-branch. If you were planning to apply online, then you probably have at least to July 26 according to this data point:
