I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

I applied this card via a referral link (not instant approval) then accepted a pre-approval in my online account. Now I have two new cards in my online account. Any chance I can spend $4000 on each card and get 200K points?
Given the success of some people in employing the double-dip method to get both Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Sapphire Preferred bonuses simultaneously, I'd say that you have a better than 50-50 chance of being awarded 200K points if you meet each card's minimum spend requirements.
Good luck!
And that would be 220K points. You forgot to include the referral bonus.
What credit score do you need for this card? My FICO is 681 income $60K
According to Credit Karma, the Chase Sapphire Preferred's average required score is 736. And the typical low score is 646. So while the average score for approvals is "good" to "very good," perfect credit history isn't necessary.
There was prior discussion about a dip in the score with balances. I just checked. Our normal credit card usage is barely 2K. This time, we have used 9% of our credit across 6 cards. $1600 on the new BOA card from March and $4.2K on the Sapphire. That alone caused my score to go down a further 5 points. The point reduction came right after Chase reported the new card with the $4.2K balance. I did not go an pay off a portion like was being mentioned.
The BOA balance had been posted for a couple weeks and was paid off 2 days ago but not yet reported.
For further clarity, our total credit is way less than half of our actual income. We never provide the full income and I typically call after a few months and ask for a credit line decrease. The largest line is currently the $17,300 on the Sapphire. We have 6 credit card accounts open currently and I believe one or 2 were recently (last year) automatically closed due to no activity.

That sounds about right. 5 point drop when typical reported balance is 2k and you jump to 6k. Even with low utilization. No one would believe me. If you typically only report a few hundred and you jump to 4k, that's when you'll see a double digit drop. Regardless of utilization.
I wonder if its more pronounced for people with really high scores like over 820. Any mistake and they'll ding you more to knock you down a bit. Maybe if you are below 800 this doesnt affect you as much. I'm guessing if you are below 700 this probably doesnt affect you at all. Hard to tell since the scoring system is proprietary.
Just got targeted email with offer end date of July 30. I was hoping this would be available through early Aug in branch since I am out of the country. I may have to go ahead and apply online

called the branch and they do?have the AF waived and $50 grocery credits and onky 80K points
Since I have the Reserve card, I can't apply for this until that account is closed, but I need my billing cycle to end before I do that, and people are saying that it can take a week or more for that to reflect in Chase's records. So, my question is, if I apply for the Preferred card for my wife and add myself as an authorized user, will they stop the application, since I still have the Reserve card? Or, do I just need to apply in her name and then add myself later as an authorized user? BTW, she is not an authorized user on the Reserve card.
Having you as an authorized user does not affect the odd of your wife getting approved.

From what I'm reading, I could sign her up, and then send a referral to myself after the Reserve card is closed, and get another sign up bonus plus the referral bonus for her. That should work, shouldn't it?
Do they give access to your card number right away or do you have to wait for physical card? I need to pay a $2000 bill within next 7 days which would help with the $4K spend.
Yes, but it takes quite some time to have your closed CSR status reflected on Chase system. A better option is to product change/downgrade your CSR to a no-fee card like Freedom Unlimited. In this way you can still keep your points after closing your CSR.
