I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Walmart purchases triggered my $50 credit, and I also see the PYB option for WM supercenter purchases. And I totally agree that there is no need to prove it.

Umm so you can claim something and not back it up and we have to PROVE it? No thanks.

I and another member said their Walmart purchase were cataloged as groceries and you said they do not. So, if you truly have this card, swipe it at your local Walmart and prove to us clueless folk that we're wrong by showing that your purchase was NOT labelled as groceries.

We did not tell someone that Walmart purchase won't classify as grocery purchase. You did. Back your claim up then as you made a rather broad statement citing ALL Walmarts and Targets won't count as grocery even if you buy groceries there. Smilie

I shop at the local Walmart Supercenter.

Great deal, but interest rates are crazy. Anyone know if you ask for 0% for the first year if they'll agree?

I disagree. We need proof. Are you scared of showing you aren't lying? I haven't made any Walmart purchases so I can't prove anything whereas you guys can. Walmarts are only in poor areas. If you guys are telling the truth I feel sorry for those guys that bought crazy amounts of store gift cards at grocery stores lol. Now they have to waste all of their money on junk instead of getting it all back immediately on cash equivalents. At the money center you can pay utility bills with nominal fees and maybe even your mortgage. I haven't been following MS that closely lately so you'll have to go to flyertalk to read up on what can be done at money centers nowadays. I remember when you could buy money orders at the money center with a cc. Those were the days.

Downgraded my CSR to CFU today. If I understand correctly, I need to wait 4 days to use P2's CSP referral. Is that 4 business days?

We don't need proof. Now THREE of us are saying we got grocery credit (and I was able to also PYB on the one purchase which got me the credit and the other purchases there BTW). You are the one disagreeing and demanding a proof. We don't have to prove anything to you. You can go to a poor neighborhood, buy something and prove you are right as we're not accusing you. You are borderline accusing us that we're lying. I am sure there are safe poor areas which have a Walmart where you can take your uninsured or barely insured car to prove your point of being right. Big Grin

I did not think you were lying. I thought you simply did not know and were just talking out of your you know what. Now that you're basically accusing us of lying, good luck with getting any proof out of me.

Same here. Not only did I get the credit, but was able to PYB on the full transaction amount too so I think we double dipped on that. Smilie

If you demand a proof, then apparently you are on a wrong forum. This is a forum where members exchange and share information. A proof is nice but no one is obligated to show you any proof. We share our experience here. You believe it, you take it. You don't believe it, you move on. It is just arrogant to ask other members to show you a proof here.

if you care about the interest rate on new credit cards you probably should not be opening new credit cards.

So, if I already have a freedom unlimited cash rewards card from a year back, can I build out the trifecta by adding this card and the flex? Or is it possible only for new cards?

Thinking about applying to this CSP card.

I tried to read as many pages as I can, what is the best way to apply to it and get the most benefits?

Wife has the CSR, can she refer me to apply for the CSP and get the 20k referral points? or does she need a CSP?
Unless your wife does extensive traveling to take advantage of the CSR perks, this is the most lucrative strategy (in sequential order):

1. Wife: Have your wife change product (downgrade) from CSR to Chase Freedom Flex.
- This will qualify her for a new CSP card.
- This will preserve her credit card history.
- This will give her access to earning points in quarterly 5% Freedom categories. (All points can be later combined and redeemed under any listed Ultimate Rewards account, yours or your wife's [link].)

2. You: Assuming you don't know any CSP holder who can refer you, sign up in branch for the new CSP card. The $95 annual fee will be waived for the first year. (You missed out on the $50 grocery credit offer that expired on July 17.)

3. You: When you sign up in branch, request expedited delivery.

4. You: When you receive your new CSP card, refer your wife. Referral link [chase.com].

5. Wife: When your wife's old CSR has cleared Chase's system (typically 4 to 7 days after changing product), sign up for the new CSP card via your referral. She will need to pay the $95 annual fee (charged on the first day of the month following card approval) and you will receive a 20K referral bonus. Note: You will receive no notification that your referral was successful. All that you'll see is 20K points posted to your UR account one to two statements after your wife's card has been approved. The reason Chase doesn't notify you is for privacy purposes: the decision to sign up or not to sign up via your referral is strictly up to the person receiving it and is not privy to anyone else, even if it is her husband.

6. You may want to list each other as Authorized Users of each others accounts to meet the minimum spend requirement. Being an AU on someone else's Sapphire account doesn't affect your eligibility to apply for your own Sapphire card. However, keep in mind that AU's count as one of the "5" in Chase's 5/24 Rule. If you apply for a lot of credit cards (credit card churning), I'd recommend removing each from AU's as soon as practical after meeting the minimum spend requirement.

7. Burn through each CSP's minimum $4K spending requirement. Tips on meeting spending requirement [link]. When spending, keep in mind 5% Freedom categories to maximize points accrual. Also, keep in mind CSP Pay Yourself Back categories [awardwallet.com], if you intend on redeeming your points as soon as possible at 125% rate.

8. After you both have earned your 100K point bonuses plus 20K referral bonus, decide how and when to redeem the points. This is a very complicated subject, included in this decision is whether to change products to a CSR (minimum wait time 1 year after CSP approval) to take advantage of 150% redemption rate via UR travel portal. A few links touching on the subject:

9. At the end of one year, decide whether to change products. Most people opt to downgrade to the free Chase Freedom accounts (you are allowed to have multiple Freedom accounts). Your wife may wish to upgrade back to her CSR card. Keeping the CSP card is generally considered not worth its current benefits package; however, that has been rumored to change soon. [doctorofcredit.com]

You have at least 30 days after your anniversary date to make a decision and get a full refund of the annual fee. Thereafter, your refund will be made on a pro rata basis.

Good luck!

Note: This approach assumes that you both meet the application requirements for the CSP card [link].

If you're interested in 0% credit cards, try these:
https://www.creditkarma.com/credi...t-interest

Note: Be sure to read the terms and conditions very carefully. Some (all?) have terms that call for heavy penalties if you violate them, for example, if you're late or miss a payment.

This. Paying in full every month = 0% paid in interest

1) Best way to apply is through a player 2 referral to get 100k + 20k referral bonus.
2) If option 1 is not possible, apply in branch to waive the 1st year AF of $95.
3) Need to have CSP to refer CSP.
Sorry, I'm unfamiliar with the referral process, but only the referrer gets 20k bonus right? Not both get a bonus?
