I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Don't cancel CSR or you won't be able to apply for CSP for 30 days. Downgrade to Flex Freedom Unlimited (VISA) and you keep your CSR number and you can apply for CSP after 3-5 days. Cross fingers offer is still available. If offer is not available, I believe you have 30 days to go back to CSR and retain your number.
Got it, thank you for the info! Appreciate it! Fingers crossed the offer will still be available in a few days.

wish i could reserve a flight (if was no fee change for 2-3 years) using CSR before closing card. keeping card really for flight and loungue, but now with covid no trips so no need for a $550 or 250 AF for Reserve
Any reason NOT to close it?
still have ink cash. are points in ink cash a cash refund, or also 1.25 trip in the future?
Freedom unlimited visa best downgrade for reserve?
if downgrade a month before AF, would 1/12 AF be refunded?
Product change would be a better choice than closure because you will retain both the account history and your credit line with which there will be no adverse effect to your credit score.
Freedom Unlimited offers 1.5x points for each dollar of purchase, while Freedom Flex has 5% on quarterly rotating categories. It is your choice to determine which is a better card for your spending habit.

Anyone recent downgrade? There's people saying it's 30 days in branch wait time rn for the card to not show in my account. Is it still accurate? My online account has been updated to the freedom already
I downgraded on a Weds and waited until following Tuesday to apply to be safe. No issues, approved immediately.
I downgraded from CSR to Freedom Unlimited last week on a Monday. Went into branch today (Mon) and the banker couldn't find me eligible for this CSP or any "offers" at all. Am I not yet cleared in the Chase system of being a Sapphire holder? I thought 4-5 days is sufficient time to apply? I received my last Sapphire Bonus 5 years ago, so it's not the 48/mo issue, that this banker kept insisting my problem was. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
It used to be 3 to 5 days, but apparently it seems Chase now takes a longer time to register the downgrade on their system. I always advise to wait 5 to 7 days. Some members here reported their product change request had taken as many as 9 days to complete.
I suggest you go to your branch again to sign up by this Friday. If your banker says your are still ineligible to sign up, ask him to sign you up as a guest which means not to use your profile to apply.

3 months from this Friday is Black Friday. Does anyone know if the purchase have to have settled if I finished up buying 4K worth of stuff that on this Black Friday if I applied this Friday?

I'd like to reiterate Tazmania99's work around solution.
There is a chance that the system has not had sufficient time to divest itself of the old Reserve account. However, I'd suggest that at the 7 day mark, that there is an equal chance that the problem has nothing to do with your Reserve account. The system is simply stuck and won't allow your application to go through.

I spoke to a Chase Account Manager earlier this week because I haven't received my card after 3 weeks and he said we actually get 115 days for bonus internally in their system so, you should be good however, I recommend to double check by calling them.

Yes sorry it was a stand-alone question aside from sapphire card sign up.

Do I have to pay off the amount to get 100k?
