I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Indeed, you don't need to wait 30 days for Chase to complete the downgrade. Product change usually takes 3 to 5 days in general. Since Chase increased the bonus points in June, the process has been prolonged to 1 to 2 weeks. You may try to sign up 2 weeks after you request the product change.

Also, some tips before your downgrade.
I downgraded my CSR to freedom on 09/02, today I can see both CSR and CSP are available to apply online when logged in my account.
So is that means I can apply now? Or have to go to local branch to ensure successful application?
Also, still seriously consider to apply both CSR and CSP.
Thanks!

Being an Authorized User on someone else's account does not count as having a Sapphire account. However, being an Authorized User does count toward the "5", under the 5/24 rule.

For more about eligibility, see below post from another member.

If I am added as additional user on my wife's card, would I be ineligible to get future chase card offers, since they always have 24 month cool off period?

Unfortunately nope. The new card showing up on your Chase account online doesn't necessarily mean you have cleared off the old Sapphire card on Chase system. If you intend to sign up in branch to save $95 AF, you may schedule a phone meeting [chase.com] with your local branch, have your banker check your profile over the phone whether you are eligible to sign up the CSP before heading down to the branch.

Signing up online (not logging to your Chase account) seems to be faster as it is deemed to sign up without your Chase profile. This is also a workaround to bypass Chase's lengthy process of product change. Signing up as guest in branch is the same as signing up online without your profile but since this is done in branch, you'll get $95 AF waived. Recently some members reported back their local branches now refused to sign up Chase customers as guest. This could be YMMV. You can still give it a try.

I got this card in July 2017, spent 4k, and got/redeemed the 60k bonus pts (what it was at the time) on 9/20/2017.

If I apply for it again, do I have to wait until after 9/20/2021 to give it a full 4 years from when I last got a bonus? Or can I apply today, since I won't spend enough to get the bonus until after 9/20/2021?

Also, I closed the card in August 2019. Not sure if that matters or not with regards to getting it again/getting the bonus again.

You need to wait.
Closing card in Aug 2019 okay.

OK, so wait until after 9/20/2021 to apply. Got it.

Thank you.

Canceled CSR on 8/31 and applied CSP on 9/2. Application denied. Call the reconsideration line and was told to wait for 30 days after cancellation of CSR to apply. Did I miss anything?

You can contact Chase to find out, either by calling Chase or having your banker check your profile.

You can also sign in your Chase account. On the upper left, click Main Menu, then Credit Cards. If you see CSP as an option for you, it means you are good. The problem is we don't know how often and how soon this option is updated.

So it'd be better to act based on the past data points; that is, wait 1 to 2 weeks after you request the product change, then schedule a phone meeting with your local branch and have the banker check your profile to see whether you are eligible to sign up at that moment.

It has been mentioned zillion times in the thread not to cancel your CSR for this deal. Instead, do a product change/downgrade. Account closure takes as many as 30 days to clear off the old Sapphire account record on Chase system.

In the meantime, your only option is wait.

Anyone know if Chase would refund the $550 annual fee if I cancel with a month?

My initial plan was to downgrade my CSR to a Freedom card then sign up for CSP, but I totally forgot to do it before the renewal date and have been charged the annual fee.
When I downgraded my CSR to a Freedom card, they automatically refunded $150 of my annual fee (my fee this year was only $450), and since I had already claimed my $300 travel reimbursement and my DoorDash credits, I came out ahead for the year on just those two things. I also booked several hotels with points at 1.5X value, saving me more this year. BTW, I was also able to apply for the CSP about 4 days after my downgrade.

This morning, I called Chase first and had a phone rep tell me all branches should be offering the 100K bonus + first year waived + $50 grocery credit. 30 minutes later, I walked into my local branch and they confirmed all of this. Sign up was quick and painless. He said it was 80K + 20K bonus usually within 1 week of each other. Also clarified that if you sign up in person, you cannot apply a referral promo. And I clarified that if you use a referral link from someone, it will offer 80K for now and if you use that link, you'll only get the 80K. Bank worker said its unlikely that a referral offer with 100K bonus will be offered.
Hope that helps everyone
I know this comment is a few months old, but a buddy sent me a referral link (for online application). If I apply, I get the 100k, and he gets 10k points I think. So, the 100k+referral appears to be active for online apps. I can't speak to branch applications though.

It definitely does work for online applications. I signed up from a referral link from my wife, and I will get the 100K points, and she gets 20K. Great deal for us. We'll end up with more than 220K points by the time we're done with the spending qualifications.

Thanks for the feedback. I assume you only got refunded $150 because you're in the middle the the calendar year?
I haven't claim any travel or Doordash credit yet, and I don't have any immediate travel expense. My plan is to transfer the points to a different card and save for future use.
