I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Thanks for the information!
As a Churner/new homeowner, I so wish that wasn't the case, and my $3.5k/month mortgage payments could actually be useful for SUB purposes...

Not with a Visa card, you can't. Mortgages are a Plastiq category that is sadly Mastercard-only.
Thanks!

I am not going to use points on travel/dining/shopping, what's the best method to use the points and get the most bang for the buck? I think Cashback or Pay your self back looks to be the options, correct?

Does any one know what's the difference between Cashback and Pay your self back? Which one is better?
Cash Back = Redemption of points for statement credit or direct deposit to the financial institution of your choice. Redemption rate: penny per point.

Pay Yourself Back = Redemption of points for eligible purchases made with your credit card during the previous 90 days. Eligible purchases include those in the Home Improvement, Grocery, and Dining categories. Redemption rate: 1.25 cents per point.

Travel option = Purchase of travel using points, made directly through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal. Redemption rate: 1.25 cents per point.

Please note the differences between how each option works. The Cash Back is a straight conversion, requiring no purchases. The PYB option acts as reimbursement for purchases previously made. The Travel option is used directly to make a purchase.

Please note. I corrected the post. The deadline for the Pay Yourself Back program is now December 31. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ch...r-31-2021/
Good news. But will the same categories also be extended like grocery and home improvement.

Can someone 100% confirm for me if I'm eligible for the 100k bonus pts? I got this card in July 2017. I received the bonus (at the time it was 50k pts) on 9/18/2017. I redeemed the bonus on 9/20/2017. It is now 9/21/21, so 4 years and 3 days after I received the bonus, and 4 years and 1 day after I redeemed the bonus points. I closed the card in early 2019. Given that it's been 4 years + a few days since I received the bonus, that should make me eligible for this offer for the 100k pts, correct?

Applied for the Sapphire preferred card online but went into review status instead of approval. Called the customer care asking expedite review process. Next day got approved. This is second time I applied the card.

I'm currently an authorized user of my wife's Chase Sapphire (regular) card. Am I eligible for the promo?

Thanks for explaining

I went thru PYB, selected 12 transactions totalling $219.22, for "Total points redeeming" Chase is showing that I am redeeming 17531 points (instead of 21922) thus saving 4391 points (I am assuming that this is the extra 25% benefit of PYB), so is this how PYB works?

Also, once I do all eligible transactions under PYB, then for the remaining points I could do cashback, correct?

Went to my local Chase bank to apply. The customer rep did confirm that applying in branch waives the $95 annual fee. But there is no $50 grocery credit like others have mentioned.

Not sure if it varies from location to location or they changed the rules recently. The person said he did 4 of these in the last 2-3 weeks and wasn't aware of any grocery credit.

No more grocery credit. It was expired in July and replaced by $50 hotel credit in August. Both in branch and online applicants will get it.

No one can guarantee 100% that you're eligible. That is Chase's call.

We can only apprise you of the requirements.

I looked up some rewards sites, and the general consensus seems to be 48 months from the statement end date that you received your bonus.

My that statement for me ended on 9/19/17, so I'm just over the 4 year mark. So I should be good to go.

The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months.

We don't know if Chase starts counting 48 months from the actual date of your last bonus received. But technically you are still in the 48th month. Why don't you go sign up and report back since you've already learned from other rewards sites that you are eligible to apply? PleasePleasePlease
