I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Applied for CSP via wife's referral link morning of 9/24 and received message that application was under review
Called 888-338-2586 to talk to customer service to see if approval could be expedited
First I had to check approval status over the phone again before it let me talk to customer service
I explained that I wanted to expedite approval of the card and I was placed on hold and transferred 2 or 3 times, each time having to re-explain before the call was just randomly ended while I was on hold.
It was probably a 20 minute process before I got hung up on.
I waited maybe 5-10 min before calling again and this time I called a number I found in previous posts 800-436-7970 which is apparently a number for CSR cards.
This number gave me the exact same prompts as the first number, however this time when I entered my info to check application status for CSP it now says approved.
So even though I never actually got to talk to someone directly about my application it seems that something happened on the backend just by my initial call and being transferred that it got pushed through.
Kind of weird, but I'll take it. Automated message says card will arrive within the next 10 days.

You can't downgrade or product change during the first year. You are only allowed to do so after the first anniversary. When you see your account being hit by the annual fee, it is time you can downgrade. Chase will give you a full refund of the annual fee if you make your request within 30 days of the annual fee posted to your account.

Already received the 100k points and transferred them to the CSR account, how soon can I start to downgrade to another Chase card.
Based on the past DPs, the wait time for the completion of a product change is way more than 2 days. The average wait time is 10 to 14 days for in-branch application and 7 to 10 days for online. You may call the number on the back of your CSR card, which is the dedicated line for Sapphire cards, to inquire whether they are still showing your CSR on the system.
thanks. i will wait to the 29th. in case the promotion ends at the end of the month.
Hey all.... so I lowered my cash advance limit to $100 and then tried to fund a bank account with this card and it declined (as I heard Chase changed rules earlier this year and considers it an advance). I plan on purchasing a car soon. Anyone know if the down payment will also be seen as a cash advance or will it code as a purchase?

Down payments count as purchases.
However, YMMV as far as how much of a down payment the car dealerships in your area will allow customers to charge using a credit card. (Seems like there is a downward trend with every passing year.)
BTW, that was smart of you to set your cash advance limit. Otherwise, you would have gotten a very unpleasant surprise with the cash advance fee + interest charges.

Thanks. It pisses me off that they don't allow us to disable it completely. I mean, I'm the farking customer, it is my card, why the hell can't I control what I don't want? So I have no clue what is going to be categorized as an advance yet I'm still responsible for paying? Screw that.
The other person with the link has my comment asking the same question and the response is great, I reached my $4k requirement and got the 100k already.
I pre-paid my phone bill (I'm like 7 months paid off), bought some Amazon gift cards, when out with friends we usually split/share expenses but I would pay full with my card and get the split later (restaurant spending is also great because it's one of 25% extra PYB category) and also did grocery shopping for the family and got compensated in cash. Overall I won't lie I did spend more than I would usually spend in a 3 month period but not enough to wash away the $1k+ in signup bonus.
Great, thanks. I set up an appointment with my banker for Thursday this week to apply so he can waive the $95 first year fee. Hopefully this offer will not expire by then.
Downgraded CSR to FU no 9/5, waited 3 weeks to be safe (DPs in this thread and elsewhere caution to wait a bit longer than the 4 biz days previously reported), applied 9/27 using a referral link and was instantly approved.
Anyone on the fence should apply soon - I doubt Chase will keep the SUB this high forever
