I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Signed up in branch today, SoCal, $95 AF waived, 100k bonus points.
Came home and MDD CSR, was already preapproved. Looks good to go.
That was about 6-7 hours ago, both show up in my account now.
Congrats!
However, I don't quite understand. You applied and were approved for both cards on the same day? Chase Banks in California are open on Sundays? I thought you needed to wait a day between applications (according to the MDD instructions that I've read)? Also, I read that you should avoid applying during weekends when doing MDD?
Approval times vary from instant approval to several weeks. They vary not just because individual situations are different, but because Chase's review process is inconsistent. My recommendation in all cases is that if you haven't received approval within two days of your application, call the Reconsideration Line (888) 270-2127 and inquire about the status. Oftentimes, it's just small details that are hanging up the review ... confirmation of address, confirmation of ID, shifting around of available credit limits, etc.
Based on feedback from this discussion, my guess is that the majority of the applications have been approved within two days ... but that's just my general impression. YMMV.
After your card has been approved, normal delivery time is 7-10 business days. However, if you need it faster, call to request expedited delivery (2nd day delivery). I've always used the Reconsideration Line, above, to make such requests. Tazmania99 suggests a different number. Still others suggest using the regular Chase Sapphire Preferred Customer Service number (800) 493-3319. Take your pick. There is no additional charge for the expedited delivery.
The grocery credit offer expired in July. The hotel credit started in August. No one has gotten both the grocery credit and the hotel credit.*
*Not yet, anyway.
Well others who signed up when it was the grocery credit should check their accounts. I signed up around the last day (or maybe very last day) of grocery credit so maybe that is why it shows for me?
Also, I was planning a trip but my friends can't get their shit together in time so I'm looking like $1000 - $1300 short. Any safe ways to meet the spend? I already paid ahead my cell and cable bill. Wanted to avoid the GC route but might not be an issue with such a small amount?
How do I verify that I am signed up to receive the 100K bonus and hotel credit? I applied at the bank and was approved immediately. The banker showed me what I was signing up for, but didn't give me any paperwork. Now that I have the card, there is no reference to 100K bonus in the envelope or on my online account. Also, I don't see anything about a $50 hotel credit except at the 1 year anniversary.

Check the chase app. Open your cc in the app and scroll down under the transaction section. Should say "your new account bonus." You should also see it in the rewards section of the website.

I think if you look at the fine print, you will find that it says that you'll become eligible for the new hotel credit on your anniversary date. (Which is why I said in my original message, "not yet, anyway".)

Thanks, it is shown in the app! Strange that it is nowhere to be found on the website - I checked the rewards section as you suggested.

Gotcha... the terms are odd. I guess I didn't understand what they meant by "anniversary year.

Hrm.... log in to the rewards site, and select the preferred card, and at the top of the screen it should say You're $xxxxx away from 80,000 bonus points!

Yup, both within 2-3 hours of each other. Yes, you typically should avoid applying Fri/Sat as the ID verification lines are not open Sat/Sun. But I have quite a few Chase cards already and figured that wouldn't be an issue. When you apply for the CSR, you can login or apply as a guest. I logged in - so theoretically identification should never be an issue.
The other thing is I was already preapproved for all of the cards I could see in the Chase portal. So really all I did was login to claim it after I got the approval in branch.

are you guys using android apps? on my ios app i don't see anything about the 100k points... maybe it hasn't been setup yet? the new sapphire card shows up in my account as of yesterday but i have not yet received any notification of the application approval.
For those applying online and getting instant approval, do you get the choice to view your virtual credit card number to be able to make instant online purchases?

I can't see my actual card number yet, but in the app there's a link to digital wallet and it let me add my card to Google pay and PayPal without knowing my card info.

Also, sorry in advance if someone already answered this, but there a ton of comments on this thread.

If you've already gone through making a detailed checklist, then gift cards would be the last option.
