I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

i didn't call the recon line because i just checked the app and the new CSP account just showed up. so even though they didn't send me any notification it appears that the account is already approved and set up.
does anyone know what number to call to expedite the mailing of the CSP card? i searched the thread but all the mentions just say "call customer service", but don't list the number of which there are so many...

Those bankers, they can be so clueless at times. The Chase 100K nationwide promotion for in-branch sign ups has been ongoing since June 17, 2021. NOT A SINGLE PERSON THAT APPLIED AT A CHASE BANK SINCE THAT TIME HAS REPORTED GETTING 80K POINTS.* 100% of the SD data points since then have been for 100K points. That's a pretty convincing sampling.
* _ Note: For the first few weeks of this particular promotion, Chase's system wasn't working cleanly. Customers that signed up in-branch for the 100K bonus were awarded it as one 80K bonus and one 20K bonus. However, online accounts only showed a bonus of 80K earned when the person first met the minimum spend. Customers were understandably alarmed that they would only be getting 80K, Chase reassured them that they would get the 100K. All cases were put to right by the person's statement date: the bonus was awarded as 80K with a separate bonus of 20K, for a total of 100K points.
Any advantage of applying in-branch vs online? Does in-branch have faster/higher approval since it's person-to-person?

I went to the SoCal branch 10/01 and they offered waiver of first year annual fee but no $50 grocery credit. Still a great deal - thanks for the additional tip!

Taz gave you the main reason for applying in-branch.
And the main reason for applying online is the 20K points bonus for referrals. If you happen to know someone already holding a Chase Sapphire Preferred account, that person can give you a referral (earning him or her 20K). This works if you somehow benefit by that referral, many times this being husband-wife situations. The $95 annual fee is not waived because the referral only works online, but the 20K points more than offsets it.
As far as faster approval in-branch versus online ...
AFAIK, neither process is significantly faster than the other. IMO, both suffer from very inconsistent treatment of individual applications. It's like what Forrest Gump said, "... like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
How is this thread still alive? Are people just now finding this offer? Dafuq?
Some people live under a rock don't you know? Plus tasmanian and 1dash1 keep answering the most mundane questions over and over again. If they stopped spoon feeding people this thread would be more easily searched.
Can I transfer my CSP 100K points just earned to my wife's CSR? Any benefit of doing that? Thanks!
Yes, you can transfer points to your wife's UR account. However, you will need to call Chase Customer Service to do so. Online transfer of points to family members is no longer possible. Reference: https://thepointsguy.com/news/com...s-changes/
There are a couple of benefits in favor of the CSR account when it comes to redeeming points.
1. Better value under Chase Pay Yourself Back option, 1.5 cents per point (CSR) vs. 1.25 cents per point (CSP). Dining category for CSR extended thru 3/31/2022, expired for CSP on 9/30/2021.
2. Better value under Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal, 1.5 cents per point (CSR) vs. 1.25 cents per point (CSP).
So I signed up and received the $50 grocery credit but I was in the rewards portal today and it shows that I have the hotel bonus available as well? Anyone else get both credits? Is the hotel an everyone credit? I thought it was only for signups and replacing the grocery?

The grocery credit offer expired in July. The hotel credit started in August. No one has gotten both the grocery credit and the hotel credit.*

Came home and MDD CSR, was already preapproved. Looks good to go.
That was about 6-7 hours ago, both show up in my account now.
