I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

You have a whole year or so to use/transfer the points before you run into the annual fee (again, if not waived). The strategies depend on how much value you can get out of them, IE transfer to Sapphire Reserve and then get 150% redemption value.
My assumption is it's best to cancel than to do a Product Change to Freedom so you can preserve your ability to get a bonus on a Freedom CC in the future?

For most people, the primary determining factor is credit worthiness.
If you only have a few credit cards, low total credit availability, and relatively young credit history; it is probably in your best interest to keep the account ... albeit by doing a product change (downgrade) to a free card.

If you have a plethora of credit cards, high total available credit, and a mature credit history; you may want to cancel the card entirely. While there may be a miniscule impact to your credit score (both immediate due to available credit impacts and 10 years in the future when the account drops off your credit history), those impacts are more than offset by simplified bookkeeping.
If preserving the option of the Freedom bonus is important to you, you can do a product change to the free Chase Slate account.

Does anyone know if there's a $75 annual fee for every authorized user card added for the Sapphire Preferred? Trying to make one and this is listed:

"For Chase Sapphire ReserveĀ® and J.P. Morgan ReserveĀ®, there's a $75 annual fee for each additional authorized user card."

Doesn't mention the Preferred but I just want to make sure. Also, if wifey has the Sapphire Preferred authorized card, would it hinder her from taking advantage of the 100,000 promo in branch?

You can have a dozen authorized users to your Preferred account. All free of charge... but you're on the hook to pay for anything that they charge. Reaper

There is no prohibition for authorized users to sign up for a new Sapphire Preferred account.

I went through a lot of the recent pages but didn't see the answer to my question.

Has anyone gotten the CSPreferred bonus after canceling their CSR? How long did you have to wait after canceling?

If I already cancelled my CSR card on Thursday, can I go into a branch this week and try for the Preferred sign up bonus?

Thank you!

You should not have canceled. Cancellation takes 30 days to clear the old card from your history before you will be allowed to apply for the new Sapphire card.

If, instead, you had done a product change to a Chase Freedom or a Chase Slate card, the old CSR account would have taken one to two weeks to clear (for in branch applications).
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=149674597&postcount=4736

At this point, your best bet would be to go ahead and apply in branch for the new CSP to lock in the promotional deal (knowing full well that your application will be rejected), then rely on being able to apply for reconsideration within 30 days of the application rejection date. Hopefully, your CSR will have cleared by then. Reconsideration Line: (888) 270-2127

Disclaimer: There are no data points to support whether this strategy will work. However, due to the tenuous nature of the 100K offer, I don't see where you have much of an option.

EDIT: For more detailed information on executing this strategy [link].

I product changed my OG sapphire to a freedom a week ago. Branch has not been able to let me apply for the CSP and when they call corporate they said I have to wait 30 days.

My 3 months is up today. I finished the spend yesterday and the charges are all currently pending. These are all regular purchase charges (not like a temp hold hotel or something like that). When they finalize (I assume tomorrow) the transaction date (yesterday) is what will count right?

After making a product change, empirical data shows that the time is much shorter than 30 days. https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=149674597&postcount=4736

.

As to "not letting you apply", I have no idea how to counter that position when attempting to lock in the bonus offer and relying on the 30-day grace period for filing a reconsideration:

While your wife is awaiting the approval, she is unable to generate a referral link for you. And either you sign up online or in branch will get auto denied since your old Sapphire account is not cleared off on Chase's system as of yet. Recent DPs show that the wait time is 10 to 14 days for in-branch application and 7 to 10 days for online. You may sign up before the end date just to lock the application date even though you will be denied, then contact Recon later to review your app. You have 30 days from the application date to have Recon review your app. If Recon finally approves your app after your old Sapphire accounts are cleared off on Chase's system within 30 days, you will still get the 100K bonus points, assuming meeting the $4K minimum spend requirement.

Perhaps others can comment as to what is considered to be an "application" that can be reviewed by the reconsideration process.

My transaction posted to my account after the Chase Offer expired. Will I still earn a statement credit?

As long as you or any cardholders made the transaction before the expiration date and met
the requirements of the offer, you should receive a statement credit. If you don't receive your statement, please call the number on the back of your card.

Reference: Chase FAQs [chase.com]

BTW, while the 3 months starts on the date of your card approval (not the date that you received your card), Chase typically grants you more than 3 months to meet the bonus requirement.

Post Script: Remember, the $95 annual fee does NOT count as a qualifying purchase. Just thought I'd better add that reminder for you, since you appear to be cutting your purchases pretty close.

Disregard: You opened your account in-branch, no annual fee charged.

Due to the extremely fragile nature of this offer (it could end at any second), I'd suggest short-siding the wait period by applying after 7 days. My guess is that your odds of having the old Sapphire card cleared from your history by then is better than the odds of the 100K bonus remaining available after 14 days. Indeed, I'm surprised the bonus has continued in-branch for as long as it has after the online offer terminated.

Thanks. I was going by the date listed in the app (which was today). I should be good to go as my final purchases were yesterday. Yeah, no fee on my account (but I did have $50 in grocery rebates but that isn't an issue and the $50 still counts). I had a large vacation rental which I'm not able to book in time due to various reasons so I was scrambling towards the end here.
