I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Looking to make a $4,100 purchase coming up. Any good cc bonus deals out there? Couldn't get in on this Sapphire 100k bonus as wife and I both have the preferred from 80k bonuses and tried to sign my son up a few times during the promo so I could use his card and build him more credit, but he was declined.

Whats the end game plan on this? Can we cancel if we don't need like after 6 months (will this impact any future Sapphire promotions)? Or is it recommended to instead product change this to a no annual fee card after the 1 year is up in order to avoid the 2nd year annual fee?

Personally, I cancel since the its existence in credit history is short and shouldn't impact much if any. If you have credit cards that are opened for many years, those are the ones to keep open or convert and not close.

However for some it may make sense to PC this to CSR and redeem the points for travel at 1.5x multiplier just saying it depends.. šŸ˜‰

For some people it's nice to have the extra 25% redemption for travel. But if you're not going to travel anytime soon I guess this card isn't worth it.

I'm thinking about the same thing. Last year we had extras 25% back on groceries and restaurants but now it's not worth it. No other new deals on redemption?

Through March 31, 2022, you can use points to cover purchases at Airbnb, Away Luggage, and on dining (only for Sapphire Reserve cardholders). Think I'll cancel this card. How many days after annual fee charge do I have to call to cancel to get the refund? Thanks

Do I have to be charged the annual fee first before cancelling this card? I believe when I signed up the annual fee was waived? I don't remember if it was but now it's about to be a year and I will be charged the annual fee. Do I wait until it posts before cancelling and then get the refund for the annual fee or cancel the card? If I cancel how big of a hit am I looking at? I plan to buy a house soon.

I called and was told it's actually 41 days. Anyway I might keep the card after all since it's my only chase card that has good offers such as $75 ATT and others. $95 fee pays for itself. Freedom only has %off offers I don't care about.
