Specs are not clearly listed. Not sure if this is waterproof, and doesn't show how much Ram it has.

I wonder how the battery lasts per charge. If it lasts around a week of heavy usage, I'll buy it.

Edit: my bad,

Not waterproof, sadly.

In addition to the supersized screen, the Elipsa also offers a built-in "ComfortLight" system for reading in the dark, 32 GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, and a 2,400 mAh battery. The Elipsa also features Dropbox support, to allow for easy importing and exporting of documents.

Well, apparently the Remarkable sold well enough so they made the Remarkable2. It is a niche product but there does appear to be enough interest in this type of device.

E ink is infinitely better to read on, but yeah taking notes on it would suck. Better to just... use paper.

Ordered one a few days ago then I saw your post today. Canceled it and re-ordered with the code. Thank you OP for saving me $40+!

Why would someone be buying this for such a hefty price tag?

Pros
  • Overall not a bad price compared to other ereaders with similar specs.
  • USB C
  • Linux (might be lighter)
Cons
  • No warm light at this price?...
  • Not waterproof (I wouldn't mind though)
  • Some people might prefer Android which is more customizable.

Be nice to know how it renders scientific PDFs. I haven't found a good e-reader that can reflow properly.

Spec wise it's not even close to the boox note air I have been using, and it's been out over 1 year ago I believe. Even though this costs a little less.

Because they feel it is easier on the eyes. $400 after tax isn't much if it reduces eye stress.

I've wanted to buy an eink device since I first saw one in the early 2000s. It feels like whenever I see a new one, I'm on the fence for one minor reason or another. This morning me seriously seems like a pretty killer device. After watching one of the video reviews, I was super impressed by how quick the pen responsiveness was and the UI features seem to deliver just about everything I could ask for. My biggest reason for being on the fence at this point; is now that we're on the tail end of corona I'm doing way more driving again, so I've once again shifted primarily to audiobooks. Also, the lack of a warm light really surprised me too. Lack of waterproofing doesn't surprise me, as this is a really big device. Otherwise, at this price, I'm super tempted by it.
