I started watching a lot of comparison videos between the CX, C1, and Sony A80J because I wanted to be sure which one would be the better investment. Here's the notes I've written so far based on the side-by-side comparison videos I've watched:

Clarity/dimensionality: A80J>C1>CX
Motion: C1>CX(?)A80J
Brightness: CX>C1(?)A80J
Gaming: C1>CX>A80J
Reds: C1>A80J>CX
Greens: A80J>C1>CX
Yellows: A80J>C1>CX
Skin tones: C1>CX(?)A80J

It seems that one of the most noticeable differences between the C1 and CX is the reds. The CX displays red as more of an orange-red and the C1 displays purer reds. Also, in the side-by-side comparison, the C1 seemed to have more clarity/detail.

Cable/ Satt provider can barely handle 1080/720 resolution. Current streaming sites can only offer ultra compressed 4K content. Unless they invent a new data compression algorithm that will not degrade content quality. I do not see 8K being of any service to anyone except professionals.

Here's a youtube link to a comparison of the C1, CX and C9: link [youtube.com]

The superiority is slight.

If anybody is curious, I just submitted a lowball offer of $2,800 on Verde Toe and just received a counter offer of $3,199 OTD (no tax or shipping). Looks like I will have to pay $238.99 for the same 4 Year protection but it looks like I will still come out better than this deal. I am just waiting to get a response from the rep regarding how long the delivery timeframe will be.
If you happen to live on the west coast, I got this from Video Only for 3100 OTD 4 year warranty and delivery with basic setup. They delivered the next day. YMMV. The TV is awesome, my first OLED.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles but now live in TX so I don't have any of those nearby. This will be my first OLED also, I am so excited!!

Did the 2699 price for C1 77 inch include tax ? I called last week and got 2800 price+tax quote from one of them in SF Bay area. Can you also mention which shop it was ?

Also is the extended warranty for Warrantech ?
Yes, it did include tax. So grand total was about ~$2900. The Video Only shop that I got it from was from Tacoma, WA store. I'm not 100% on who is fulfilling that warranty. I asked what to do if I wanted to invoke the warranty, they said to just keep the receipt handy and go back to the store if I needed a repair.

I have tax on this deal so it ends up being $3,541 for me. I can also get the 77' Sony A80J for $3,499 shipped/tax free, but no extended warranty. Wondering which to go for…

Burn in is a possibility with OLED, yes, but real world tests have shown it to be less likely than you expect. And I can't speak to PlayStation, but Xbox goes into a screen saver if you leave it alone for very long, and the TV itself has some protection measures for static screens.

That said, if you intend to leave the game paused for several hours, consider turning off the TV. If nothing else you'll save a bunch of electricity.
I am in this exact situation deciding whether to replace q90r with this deal

Did anyone try offering at Toe. I am sure it must be around $3K including shipping and there is no tax ( I am assuming from my recent Sony 77 inch A80J purchase).

I initially bought LG C1 77 inch using this link on Friday. Unfortunately (or Fortunately), the credit card did not go through. And by the time, I realized, they were closed already. So my order of C1 got cancelled. I was looking for reviews of C1 on youtube, and found people compared it Sony A80J. In Allmost all reviews , A80J was superior than C1, except if someone is buying it exclusively for gaming. I mainly use it for movies and sometimes TV shows. Have good collection of DTS-X movies as well, which LG does not support.

I personally went to BBY and compared PQ of both 77 inches from similar source. It was noticeable difference. There is a 3D pop in PQ in Sony, even comparing OLED to OLED, you can see the clear difference. I am glad, the order did not go through. Called them back and placed order of Sony A80J. Found another post in A80J post that people were able to get Sony A80J 77 inch for $3033 including tax and shipping, which is very good price IMO.

Again, I am not against LG or fan of Sony. Just my 2 cents from my recent experience if that can be useful to someone to save little bit more money (thats why we are here on SD, lol)..
That was my $3033 price and I got the TV in yesterday, 12 days after purchase. I have to say that you are 100% correct, there is a pop in the Sony picture that makes it far more powerful than the LG. I had a 65" LG E7 oled before this and while I loved the overall picture quality, it did always lack some in brightness. This Sony shines. I actually checked the settings thinking it must be on Vivid and 100% brightness, but it was on normal and 48%. It could be that the larger size is making it stand out more, but my eyes are telling me there is a vast improvement that I really didn't expect.
And when dealing with the Toe you don't have to jump at the first offer. I offered 3033 and was countered at 3099. By any logic I should have accepted, it was only $66 more and i was saving $700, but I held off and the next afternoon my offer was accepted. I have to think the C1 should be available for something similar.

The only people who talk about burn-in at this point are people who have never owned an OLED. I've had two, neither has had anything close to burn-in. It's an automatic defense for Samsung owners at this point.

Granted, microLED is coming along nicely, but it's still not perfect and I'd rather have an OLED over an imperfect microled setup
I've had OLEDs for while now, starting with the 65EG9600, then later the 55C6 and then a 65C7, all three have had burn in. I'm in the process of replacing the 65" with the 85" QN90A in another thread now. Burn in on the C7 was caused by the 8 year old leaving it on a static Disney + image while I was at work one day - resulting in 'Disney lion king' burned into the right hand side of the screen. The other two cases were from watching news channels with a lot of static images in the lower part of the screen. I prefer the picture quality and features of the OLED, but for me, burn in has been far MORE prevalent. If the new 5 year warranty on the G series line ends up covering burn in I may be drawn back. Just my experience.

Based on a suggestion from a slick deal comment; I Got my C1 from Video Only for $2999 with a 5 year extended warranty & delivered.
Couldn't be happier with it.
