You should make it clear that this is the price after the hack fraud.

HD's discounting for these promos are meant for package deals. The buy/return hack just games the system. That's why several folks report that HD gives them problems when they try for a return. To quote a HD systems support guy I spoke to, "it's not supposed to be allowed, but we just haven't fixed the loophole yet."

I don't feel right doing it, which is enough to stop me. But to each his/her own.

FRAUD?? We're talking about corporations that will cheap out on a capacitor to save half a penny on a $200 tool, if they were to lose any money with these hacks they wouldn't be offering them… how innocent is to believe somehow we're are hurting HD by returning something we paid for. Because literally that's what's the hack is all about: you pay for something, then you return it and get your money back.

It most definitely isn't, its specifically allowed. Which is why they don't allow the option on other deals. It's a discount program worked out with the manufacturers, and this is how HD is CHOOSING to offer the promo. If not, all of their deals or none of their deals would allow it. And I've done it dozens of times, with hundreds in returns, and have never had a issue, working with employees and CS managers both.

Have to agree with this. HD usually has two different SKUs for an item that can be hacked, hackable with selectable free item and a version of it with both items together unhackable. Like the M18 starter kit hack.

Hackable version where you can select the tool:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../315426486

Non-hackable version with it bundled:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../316086712

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../316086163

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../316086228

If they really cared, I don't see why they couldn't just turn off that hackable SKU and only have the bundles listed individually.

I'm sure you've done it dozens of times without a problem, while others have had problems (I consistently see it in the hackable deal threads here). I've also noticed on my recent "hackable" purchases that my receipt has changed to prevent the single-item return.

As I said, to each his/her own. But it's fair to allow folks to think about the other side of it also in the midst of all this hype around these hacks.

Are you using them as extra weights? I thought there were less expensive options.
