Did anybody say mint mobile is better ?
edit. yay I said it first.
FreeUp Mobile is even better than Mint because it features the same pricing, but on AT&T which has better low band coverage and less heavy depriorotization.
You would be better served getting something like a Tracfone annual plan for extra or emergency lines.
After the first month, you would be paying $25 a month for this, so hardly worth it if you're not using it.
With Tracfone, you can get one year of service for $20 (on sale) or $50-$60 full price, but you will only get 1,200 mins/texts and 3gb of data for the whole year, though you will then also have a line that you could use for a port in promo towards the end of your year of service.
Tracfone via eBay does the $20 deal every once in a while. Just set a deal alert here on SD to be notified as someone always posts when it comes around.
MaroonDolphin8557I'll check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

Has anything changed with Tracfone since Verizon brought them ?
If you need just a month now, it's okay I guess... Sprint/TMobile hasn't been great for traveling in my experience though. Mint Mobile might still be the more economical choice - if you need more than one month
If you place an order today, your order will ship tomorrow evening, with the shipment confirmation and tracking number sent the following business day, once available. Orders are shipped via FedEx Express Saver and FedEx usually delivers orders in 3 business days from shipment.
Yeah this is a pass for me dawg. I've purchased 3 of the 99 cent sims from boost since April trying to get on the $10 per month plan for my dad and yet to recieve a single one or the refund i was told i recieved for the 1st one never showing up. Weirdly enough I've recieved 3 boost mobile sims addressed to the guy who used to live here. Even more odd is the fact he is no longer living so I'm fairly certain he's not ordering them as well.

But the FCC requires you to allow porting out of numbers, so the answer to this is really yes.
