Not sure if it's a super deal but seems to be decent price as it's dropped in recent months. I picked one up as I needed it and thought to share. Apologies if it's not a slick deal.

Selected this particular set because of the COMPACT size of the two tools and how they felt in hand with the smaller batteries (1.5). For me that was the deciding factor vs the brushed set or the standard size brushless set.
Personally for most I don't think brushed vs brushless is going to matter at all in regards to how they will work in getting your projects, etc.. done and how long they'll last.

- Ryobi is ending the "HP" line of batteries and has a new "High Performance" battery line. The two battery lines are more or less equivalent. There's some internal upgrades and some slight size differences, but that's pretty much it. Both are fine to use interchangeably.
- If you are not aware, Ryobi has both a regular 18V battery line, and 18V HP (Now High Performance) battery line. The difference is that the High Performance battery line has two extra electrical contacts to deliver more power to tools that support it.
- Ryobi's new line of tools now use the "HP" branding, but it's a bit misleading. Not all tools in the HP line make full use of High Performance (or the old HP) batteries. Some HP tools have the two extra electrical contacts, some do not.
In this particular deal, the tools are from the HP line, but they do not have the two extra electrical contacts. The batteries that are included in this deal are not from the High Performance line of batteries. These tools would not benefit from using High Performance batteries. (You can attach a High Performance battery to one of these tools and use it just fine, the tool just wouldn't make use of the battery's extra power delivery feature.)Ryobi does sell a drill and impact driver in the HP line that does benefit from using High Performance batteries (and therefore have much higher torque), but they are more expensive. For day-to-day use of the average person, I'm sure these tools are perfectly good.
I hadn't been paying attention to Ryobi's recent product changes, so I was a bit confused and had to look into this myself. Maybe this info will help somebody else.

That's why I'm still on the fence. But I do know that brushless is more powerful. Like they say, buy once cry once.

Personally for most I don't think brushed vs brushless is going to matter at all in regards to how they will work in getting your projects, etc.. done and how long they'll last (for most people using at home).
That said, after all that work I am hoping to buy the brushless ones! Why? Mostly because of the more compact design. In all that work I did, I often wished my tools were lighter or smaller/shorter, to fit under cabinets or between boards better, to carry up a ladder, etc. So I don't yet have brushless, but wish I did! Either set will serve you well, I'm pretty sure the brushless will cost more but perform somewhat better and fit in tighter spaces.
Great set though. The impact even has a little light on it. i used it for installing lag bolts for a tv wall mount and regularly use it for removing the underbody cardboard panel for oil changes.
These are "slimmer" batteries and make these two tools much more compact, as someone else stated.
Highly recommend.

There are plenty of homeowners that are still using the older brushed 18v NiCad tools, that with Ryobi, can also use the modern lithium batteries. You can buy those brushed tools in great shape with dead NiCad batteries for chump change.
What you are getting with the 4 tool is versatility of more tools for less money with one larger 4amp battery... and should you find that you need more powerful battery tools, the lithium battery line will fit those.
Meanwhile, corded tools still work well. Using a battery operated tools, like a sander in shop seems silly to me.
