This digital version linked above gives you the same unlocks for almost all the physical toys they had released. You don't need to have the physical toys to play the game.
Ubisoft also has an expansion for sale that gives your even more digital ships and pilots. I don't believe these ever got physical toy releases.
You also have the option of using physical toys to play the game. It's one or the other when you start the game: either only physical toys or only digital.
Finding the physical toys is a bit of a game in itself. Some Dollar Trees have pilot and weapons packs for sale in the "Toys" section (obviously for a $1 each). I've picked up most of the released pilots and weapons. If I'm driving see an Dollar Tree I haven't been to before I'll stop in and see if they have anything I haven't picked up yet. Back in March 2020, they apparently had ships too, but I haven't seen any in any of my stops.
To use the physical toys you will need the mount that comes in the "Starter Packs" for the game. Either the XBox One version or the PS4 mounts will work on the PC version, but the PS4 version plugs directly into the USB port (there is no wireless mount option), while the XBox One version will only work through a XBox One controller paired with the PC. I believe you can also buy these mounts for either console separately.
You will need two mounts if you want to play co-op with two physical ship. If you have only one mount, one player can play with the physical ships and the other coop player can play with the digital ships.
You can get starter packs for pretty cheap too depending on where you live. They come with a pilot, some weapons, a ship, and a console version of the game. Check out Gamestops or Five Below's in your area; they usually have them around $5-$6.

FYI, the game is OK and as you can see, I'm willing to give it a try in PC. Graphics on the switch were terrible but the gameplay, although repetitive, allows you to explore different planets in a complete open-world design, you can enter/exit a planet through its atmosphere in an immersive way, kind of what Star Citizen will be like.
The space exploration part of the game was cool to me, and although not hyper realistic, it's good enough that I got disoriented and lost a couple of times. So that comment is to say, you don't feel like a game "on-rails", it's definitely a "choose your own adventure" type of game.
However do note that the digital deluxe version (the version in the OP) comes with much of those things already unlocked.
Very smooth an polished. I loved it. 10/10
Eh BIOS security only really matters if there's a potential physical vulnerability, ie a business. If someone gains unauthorized unknown access to my PC I have far greater security concerns.

Short game, repetitive but $10 is no brainer.

Yeah, but having to hunt all those pieces down would have been a PITA. I tried doing it, but nothing around where I live. I would have collected them… Trying to back-collect Skylanders and Disney Infinity ATM… Still expensive, because there are so many!!
I loved being able to fly around a planet, fly up into space, fight some enemies and stuff in space while actually flying to another planet… Rinse and repeat. Took me a long while to complete it all, except there is a bug on one achievement that haven't been able to get for the life of me… Sucks, because I wanted to 100% it so badly… oh well.

Is Starlink strictly single player or is there a co-op mode? If the latter, does it support crossplay between PCs and consoles?
At least it says offer good until 6/21 (or "while promotion last"... are they going to run out of the digital coupons or does Ubisoft have a set "spend" amount like Amazon and Chipotle often do which could end the coupon early?).
