Thanks, OP! I just ordered one.

I picked one up a few weeks ago from Costco (it came with 250 nits screens and 12 GB memory), and while I love everything about the laptop, I wished for a brighter screen and more memory. Your post is an answer to my prayer. And getting a pen is an added bonus.

Returned my 5800H Omen and seriously considering this one with the surprisingly fast ship time. (If they ship on schedule, Omen was delayed 3 times.)

This checks most of the boxes. Price is higher than I'd prefer for something without a dGPU, but that's the market right now. 4.11 lbs is main thing stopping me - seems high for a U series cpu and igpu. Anyone know if that's system weight alone, or includes the weight of the power brick?
4.11 lbs is the laptop weight, and it does feel heavy to hold it especially when you are used to laptops and tablets weighing less than 3 lbs. I bought one a few days ago (with the estimate ship date of 6/30) as a desktop replacement, and thus the weight is not a big issue for me. If you are on the go most of the time and prefer lighter units, then you would consider other lighter models.

Not buying anything without a discreet gpu especialy at 1k. Would just leave too much to be desired. Hard pass on laptops with only integrated graphics.
Yes, there are laptops with dGPU under 1k, but chances are they are a few model years old. So, you would have to decide whether to get one with dGPU with older CPU or go with the latest CPU with integrated graphics.

This is a pretty effing awesome deal. Will the Vega graphics play any AAA titles at the lowest settings? 720p maybe?

How does this compare to the Lenovo posted a couple weeks back? This one has a touchscreen and Ryzen 7, the Lenovo has a dedicated GPU, i5 and is a bit bigger/heavier.

I have a question here. HP Omen 15 and this one are two completely different class of laptops, especially in terms of CPU and GPU performance. the main question is what are your use cases? It can't go anywhere near to the dGPU performance of a RTX series cards. If you want that kind of laptop, there are plenty of alternatives with reasonable price and faster shipping dates. Check the below one:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15087043-acer-nitro-5-an517-41-17-3-fhd-ips-144hz-ryzen-7-5800h-16gb-ddr4-1tb-pcie-ssd-rtx-3060-win10h-1399-99-f-s?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1
I wasn't going to bore anyone with the details, but since you asked… Smilie

I was willing to pay a premium to get my hands on a 5800H, and the dGPU was intended for transcoding, and maybe gaming if I ever find time to get back into that (not likely any time soon).

But between the extra weight, no support for PD and needing to keep the bulky ass charger in my living room along side my usbc charger for everything else, and receiving a laptop with a keyboard defect, I decided to return it. Will never again order a laptop without PD charging, but will consider one with a dGPU if it has PD (and a webcam, cmon Asus take my money).

Thanks for the deal! I was able to login to "Perks at Work" and get the EPP pricing of $896.50 + tax with free expedited shipping. Got this for my wife who isn't a gamer and uses the laptop for pretty heavy office type work (extremely large excel files, 5 billion Chrome tabs open, etc). She had a hard requirement for a touchscreen as well.

Love that the x360 Envy also allows for USB-C Power Delivery charging since we have a bunch of USB-C chargers all over the house.

Bought same config machine two weeks ago with credits from the returned crashing dy200+ extra $450. HP shipped it with FedEx economic shipping, and the tracking hasn't been updated for a week in local FedEx location. It might be lost. Not good experience with HP.

From all these reviews I've watched and read, the screen upgrade is well worth the $80.
