  • About this deal:
  • Reviews:
    • Rated 4.6 stars (out of possible 5 stars) by 6,307 Walmart customers.
  • About this item:
    • This trash can operates with infrared motion sensor technology to allow you to simply wave your hand above the sensor at the front of the lid to open it automatically. The lid will remain open as long as there is an object in front of the sensor and close gently five seconds after the object is removed. If a hand or object breaks the infrared beam between the lid and the sensor while it's closing, re-triggering technology opens the lid again to prevent lid from closing on your hand.

Insignia had some major complaints about the sensor being weak. I have a similar version of this now (rebranded I'm guessing). It lasted a good 4 or 5 years and only stopped working when I attempted to clean the motor/gears.

BTW, I used this to get it above $35 for free shipping: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pen-Ge.../332151230

I ordered Black for the $35 .Really nice to look at from the outside. Opened it up and wtf.It has 6 holes in frame inside (designed that way) so if your bag leaks you have wet garbage on your floor. rec'd it a 1:15 returned at 1:30 pm. Really Stupid design...

We've used it with our family of 4 for about 4 months now and it's been great. Was worried about the sensor being too sensitive since everyone has to walk past the garbage can when walking through the kitchen, but it hasn't been an issue. Still using the same AA eneloop batteries in it. We use the Glad ForceFlex bags in it and it works perfect. Can speak for the "holes" inside since we tend not to tear gaping holes in our trash bags when putting kitchen garbage in it. Would highly recommend.

Got mine yesterday. It looked like ups dropped it and let it bounce down the road a few times.

Does this have an insert you pull out to put the trash bag in, or is it just held in place by the ring?

I bought this when it was around 39.98 it's very good product. Since I didn't have D cell batteries I found a hack on YouTube. It worked flawlessly and it's been over 6 months and I didn't have to change it yet.

This has to be made by the exact same company as the Insignia one that was on SD recently. Only difference, walmart price and qc standards vs best buys? This has something on the hatch...a little handle?

If you have a plug where you will put this, wait for the version that has power adapter. It's much more convenient than this one.

Still good deal, though my family groceries a lot at Walmart. I thought I've seen this price since last month

It's just a ring, not a full insert.
