You've asked several questions here that a little bit of researching could have otherwise answered (using both google and Slickdeals).

For a $2k purchase, I wouldn't put a ton of stock in what people on a forum say in regards to whether or not it's a good deal.

To add a data point here, I bought LG CX 65 from buydig in last month's sale. The TV was defective and I had to return it. Buydig was pretty good about it. Initially, they offered me some refund back to keep the TV and repair from LG but I was too nervous to miss 30 day return window and whether LG will cover for repair or not. So, ended up returning to buydig and they sent a return label and I shipped back before 30 days and got my full money back within 7 days of item delivery to them.
How does a return label for a 65" OLED work?
Did you have to haul it into a Fedex location or did they do a pickup?

This is an excellent price. Just slightly higher than the best counter offer I received from the colored tarsels site but with a warranty.

I picked up the 55 with 5 years from Costco this past weekend. Haven't hooked it up yet.. it is the carrot to get my lazy ass to paint the room first.

Sony will have better processing and upscaling so better noise reduction, depth and perceived sharpness especially the newer A80J, not that LG is terrible Sony just does processing better, you can game on both but LG offers more features for hardcore gamers, LGs cimemotion is actually really good.
forgive me if i'm wrong...just got into OLED not too long ago. Isnt the A90J the newest Sony? I've heard its amazing but pretty expensive

So just want to share. I received this TV last Friday (6/25/21) and set it up right away and used it since (today is 6/30/21). First thought, why is it so heavy!!!!

I have a Samsung UHD (UK6300) before and was quite content. But after I saw the discount, giftcard, and 4-yr warranty, I just bought it. Thought wife was gonna kill me...

I debated mini-LEDs in the past and maybe Vizio OLED. But in the end I just bought the C1.

ANYWAY, where do I begin. I watched Digital Trends and read Rtings.com's for C1 to learn the calibration settings. I've pretty much set it the way I like it, TV is in a semi-dark room so I used Expert Dark Room settings, with peak brightness at medium. I watch netflix, prime, disney+, and play PS5. I'm debating moving my desktop to the TV and playing Forza Horizon 4. Last of Us 2 is amazing~~~ On Samsung was nice, but not this nice. My kids watch Roku (yes, its just easier for the family). I gotta say, OLED is luxurious~~~ Coming from LED to OLED is nice~

Colors are beautiful, alive, screen is uniform, and HDR is gorgeous. I can't get enough of Youtube HDR and Dolby videos. My Samsung TVs full array was not good and you can see non-uniform backlight in movies because of LED placement. Now my plan is to get 5.1 soundbar to replace my 2.1.

If you are curious and can afford OLED, go for it. If you already have an OLED then don't upgrade. I've seen mini-led (TCLR635) and its not this nice. The LG C1 is a phenomenal TV. The downside for me is WebOS. I do prefer Samsung's Tizen and Rokus simplicity. I'm not a fan of the big remote, and motion pointer on screen, so I usually press a direction to stop it.

Overall, yeah its nice. Really nice. Having OLED for movies, games, and youtube is worth the extra cost I think.

Just want to chime in here and say I ordered this when the deal started, received the TV 5 days later, and it is an absolutely amazing TV. I compared it against the Sony's and CX and for this price it's hard to beat the value. I'm upgrading from a 5yr old Samsung LED Quantum Dot SUHD and it blows it out of the water.

Buydig sent an email with instructions to package the TV in the original box and packaging material. I saved the Fedex brown box in which the TV came and I packed it back just like that and taped it around. I just pasted the FedEx label on top of the shipping box and called FedEx to schedule pickup. They came the next day and picked from my place.

So is the C1 basically the new CX?

Yes, the C1 is the 2021 model and the CX is the 2020. The C1 is slightly better but are great OLED's.

I wanted to pull the trigger on this but then I saw the reviews on CPS warranty and it's horrible. Apparently it's a joke. Has anyone ever used them can you comment? I'll probably just buy this tv on bestbuy it's the same price and pay the $500 5 year warranty from Greek squad.

The a80j and the a90j both came out in the past 2 months. They are very similar TV's in that they share the same processor. The 90 has an added heat sink so it can achieve better PEAK brightness, not overall brightness, the 90 also has an upgraded sound system and has a backlit remote. There are a couple other minor physical differences depending on the size of the TV. The 80 is priced very close to the C1 while the 90 is about 75% more expensive. A 65" a80j is 2200ish while the same size 90 is 3800ish. Honestly, to the untrained eye the differences in picture quality between the 80 and 90 are minute.
