Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7...l=ETAPRIME

Found the information from the above review:
  • The Ram is LPDDR4 3200 MHz and solderd in the motherboard, common for LPDDR memory. It is running at Dual Channel.
  • The 512GB SSD is NVMe and it has user acessible hatch at the bottom panel for a 2280 M.2 SSD, SATA III only which can be added without even opening the Laptop.
  • The CPU setup is 15W and the GPU max turbo is disabled in BIOS by default. However, the BIOS is completely unlocked and you can increase the CPU TDP as well enable GPU max Turbo.
  • In the above test, reviewer set that to 30W and it did not overheat. During Gaming, it was below 73 Degree C and during 10 mins CineBench R23 run, it reaches 89 degree C at max. These settings has actually doubled the 3Dmark score.

Screen specs, IPS VA TN, brightness, gamut, response, viewing angles, uniformity?

Good hardware for the price aside from the 4lb weight.

The Display is IPS and isn't that mentioned in the spec? It will be probably a 250-280 nits 45%NTSC Panel, common for this price range.

Didnt even know this brand still existed

They don't, the name was bought by Acer and the laptops are rebranded EVOO.

I bought one and returned it the next day without even turning it on. Horrendous plastic body flexes under the lightest contact. Probably a good buy if you don't care about build quality. The specs look great on paper for this price point. I ended up spending an extra $200 for a Lenovo with a much better screen and a metal body. My 2 cents...

The one with a $256 GB SSD is $70 cheaper. Seems a lot to pay for not much more. It would be cheaper to buy another m.2.

The one for $70 less has an older i5 (10th gen vs 11th gen). The integrated graphics on the 11th gen are a decent step up.

Yes it is a better processor but part of that depends on the MB. It supports USB 4.0 but this has 3.1. It supports Thunderbolt 4 but I could not find the Display Port in the specs.

If it utilizes the advances in graphics this could run an 8k monitor. I just could not find the specs that matter as to improvements in Gen 11 over 10. It should be better on the battery and a bit more powerful but my Gen 10 seemed to be fast enough. These specs are more in line with Gen 10 or even older.

HDMI Output x 1
USB Type-C x 1
USB 3.0 x 1
USB 3.1 x 1

Why only 3.1 when the processor supports 4.0? What gen is the HDMI? These are stuck in the past if they are as stated. Making this a lot more like Gen 10 than Gen 11. My Gen 7 Dell 7040 Desktop supports better specs minus the type C. It has two DP 1.2's and an HDMI 1.4. It uas USB 3.2. The DDR4 is slower though it can be upped to 64GB. The processor is most likely faster as it is a Desktop. It easily runs 4k in all three at 30hz. It might run a fourth monitor VGA. Will this machine even do 4k at 60hz? The processor is plenty good enough but the MB is also important.

Just questions. Does anyone know more about the USB-C.. What gen is the DP on it and does it even support DP. That is what would be important to know. If it utilizes properly the processor it could be a huge step up from the Gen 10. You could possibly run more than one 4K monitor at 60HZ through the USB C with an adapter.

I wish the specs were more specific.

As to why soldered. Soldered allows faster DDR4. Expect to see soldered as the new norm.

From a review:
But no Thunderbolt (the USB Type C port only supports data transfer, not charging, not display port).

So what is the real point on Gen 11 if the most important features of it are not supported by the MB?

I would suggest you find another laptop that supports DP to future proof. This future locks you to Gen 7 or so. I have seen many laptops for not much more that support DP some up to Thunderbolt 4.

I still would suggest one of the far cheaper Gen 10 Gateways as you are just not going to see much of an improvement in Gen 11. Thunderbolt 4 should be what to look for if you want to spend more. That is a huge improvement for sure.

Hello Everyone,

Can someone please help me decide which laptop is the best strictly for gaming (rocket league, fortnite, etc)? Please look at the ram and cpu of each, as all of them will meet my daily office needs / I would be happy with the format, size, build quality, etc of all of them and they are all around similar price after discounts (500-600 with amex offer). Just not sure which cpu + ram combo would perform the best in games.

I think the same thing but older 15.6 "ultra'slim" will spend its life at home. But, yes, that body is a cheap as it gets.
