About to do this deal, can anyone elaborate on the process to "immediately downgrade to the $30/mo plan"? Is it done through their site, or do I have to call them? Do I change it right after signing up, or do I wait until I've received and activated the phone? Thanks

Yes, it is 2020 SE. you can find out from its screen size 4.7" vs. 4.0" of old SE

Does your account have to be active to get the unlock code? Just wonder if I have to pay for an extra month for unlocking.

No, you will get 30 back if you downgrade it immediately. So 180 will give you 6 months
Thanks! How do you downgrade? Calling Cricket? If you do it while ordering, the price goes up to $279

When you activate the line after you receive the phone & SIM, activate first on $60 unlimited plan, and then you will have the option to "Change Plan" to select the $30 2GB plan.

You can request for unlock after 6-month and when your account is still active, right? Don't you need to pay for the 7th month service to have the account active to ask for your unlock code? They'll charge your account or ask for payment about 4-days before the plan expires and you need to refill the plan to receive the texted unlock code. So, it's 7-month to unlock, and $180+$30=$210 with immediate downgrade.

Once the line is activated, set an account online and downgrade at website or app immediately. Every easy to do so.
I'm still a bit confused. What's the total cost for purchasing this phone and 6 months of service so I can get it unlocked?
It seems that $180 is only for the 3-month service so I'll have to pay out of pocket for the other 3 months?
However, someone mentioned that it's possible to immediately downgrade to the $30/mo plan. Does that mean I can have the phone and 6 months of service for a total of $180?
Thanks in advance!

That no deal and its old phone with a

I switched from Galaxy S10 plus to iPhone SE a month ago and could not be happier. Each person has their own priorities in using phones. Home button is one of the things missing for me. I don't want to spend much on a phone and this form factor with great performance is all I need.

I haven't done it yet but my assumption is that if you do this, you pay 60 for first month and you get credit on your account for the next two months. ($120)

"Remaining $120 will be credited to your account and applied to second and third month service unless used on other eligible service or features. Credit will be lost if service is canceled."

So if you downgrade the plan, you can use that credit for a cheaper cell plan. Which the lowest would be $30? I think. So maybe it's actually $210?
When you downgrade from $60 to $30, the additional $30 would also be credited to your account. So, you have a total of $150 credits after downgrade
