I didn't see this posted and it looks like a good deal. Been watching this all year and I think this has been the lowest price so far.

Oh man. Best kitchen tool ever owned. I do want another one but so I need another one? At this price, I guess I'm in for one. 🧐🤭

That's a good price. I have seen them a few times at Homegoods or Marshalls for $149.99 a few times over the last year. YMMV! I love mine.

It is a device that allows you to cook food sous vide (under vacuum) in a water bath. Using controlled temperatures, you place your food in a vacuum sealed bag (or a ziploc bag) and submerge the food into the water. The device heats the water to a precise temperature for an indefinite amount of time - thereby, cooking the food. You can make steaks with no "grey banding" or you can make perfectly juicy chicken without it being pink on the inside with minimal cooking skill.

What's the advantage of this over the 1100 W monoprice strata which is on sale at $60. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LGFS...GDECJGNFHH

I second this opinion. I don't want to be forced to use an app on my phone to control a cooking appliance.

Anova's 750W version is currently $100 and it has buttons to control the temperature right on the device. The phone can be used to unlock extra features (that really aren't necessary for the average user).

And before somebody throws a hissy fit: Yes, I do realize that 750W is less than 1100W and this isn't stainless steel. But I also know that $100 is less than $160, and while Breville is a well-known brand in the kitchen, Anova has been THE name in the immersion cooker market for a lot longer.

Go with the Anova, insulate your container and wait an extra minute for your water to heat up.

Just that Breville is a name brand.

What a great deal! I have one of these and absolutely love it. I have given several as gifts, and it appears that I am going to snag another one. In our house, we had many badly-cooked steaks. With this, perfect every time. And I made so many Starbucks-style egg bites that I grew tired of them. Crème brûlée. Holy smokes.

Can't speak for the Joule but I own the Strata and it's worked perfectly. The temp curve has verified correctly and it holds temp target well. Frankly though I've an 800w Dash branded one that works just as well. I find the app useless but I guess there are some use cases where it would be handy.
