This is wrong. Graco Children's Products is a brand of Newell Rubbermaid. It has NO relation or affiliation with Graco Inc., a manufacturer of fluid handling equipment including paint sprayers.

Graco Inc. started off with grease equipment in the 1920's before expanding to paint sprayers in the 1950's. They've never made or sold children's products.

For a regular room your analysis makes perfect sense. For a deck with railings though...

Would you use something like this to paint a 2000 Sq ft house?
You could if you want to. It's also possible to rent higher end sprayers which may be good for doing a job that big. The big difference imho between this excellent looking small one and a "big" sprayer is that you wouldn't need to keep filling the smaller cup, a big one has an intake thing that can go into a 5 gallon bucket so you can go as long as you want by pouring more paint into the bucket.

No. This is intended for smaller jobs, not for painting whole houses. The biggest job I would use it on is if you were painting an accent wall of shiplap where it would be a pain to try to brush or roll.

It could technically be done, I have used them to spray a house full of doors. I would just make sure to pause after every large section, I have had them overheat and shutdown. Also when spraying a gallon every 5 minutes it becomes very tedious to refill the cup.
Thanks and repped.

You would be very disappointed if you used a TrueCoat sprayer when you are used to a Magnum. There are literally only two plastic-looking tips available for TrueCoat, the spray pattern isn't that uniform because the pump isn't great, etc.

If you want a "smaller Magnum," you would probably want their Ultra series since you can use RAC X FFLP tips for a much better and uniform finish.
Thanks! I was looking to do the same thing and use this for small jobs.

Using these types of devices require a lot of time and effort masking and covering everything within 6 feet of the area you are painting. The amount of time spent doing all of this would have been better spent on a cheap roller with a rod. There is almost no exception to this rule as far as I see. I've painted a lot of rooms and these things just make more work. That isn't even taking into account the cost and overall quality of the product.

On top of all of that, you have to wear a sealed gas/fume rated mask and goggles which cost way more in 2021 than they did 5 years ago. You'll be out close to $300 before you even buy paint.

So $140 spray painter and hours spent masking everything or $0.75 roller $10 roller extender and $2 roller pale with a tarp down.

Let's also not gloss over the fact that there are about 500 different models of electric spray painters that go for 1/3rd this cost.

Where do you get 0.75 rollers? I'm genuinely curious because I bought two houses and they all need new paint and other repairs. Trying to save money where I can

I have a new Wagner Flexico 690 that I got on a slick deal sometime back. Would this TrueCoat 690 be better than the Wagner for should I stick with the Wagner?

Good info!!! I used semi-transparent stain previously and found half a can still left in the basement. There are some peeling spots and I think I'll just hit those with a palm sander and then drop some stain on those areas. We are going to sell soon and don't want to spend a ton of time on it.
