This hp has a 10th gen and a max q? No thanks
Also, it has some advantages like having a MUX switch, Thunderbolt 4 Port etc.

There are other convenience for the TB4 port it seems, although I question how many people actually make use of it. Just the external card box can cost upward of $400.
Thanks. Yep, these hub are unreasonably expensive even diy with pcie cords directly from some Chinese websites (about 200$ diy). So 150$ aw amplifier is really generous of Dell LOL. In my opinion, Tb4 will be a promising solution for portable gaming if cloud gaming does not prevailed.
Yep, based on some review videos on YouTube, 5800 probably can squeeze extra 5.5 to 10.5 watts, thus it can dynamical boost gpu for about 10w, though I am not sure this would help the max q gpu. Gj NV! LOL.
Also the rep said they would not accept prices that require discount codes.
Maybe the 10th gen Intel chip is being sold here because they think they can get them quicker, but just know their estimated ship date may actually just be their best case scenario.

The problem with Type-C Gen 2 is that it can maximum support DP 1.4 protocol, meaning a single 4K at 120 Hz max. Now there are docks and hubs which can use the MST protocol to split the single DP 1.4 port to two DP 1.2 ports, supporting 4K@60Hz each, but they are hard to find and you really need to be very careful while buying them as those docks don't mention the exact spec clearly. Also, with Type-C Gen 2 Hubs, which is maxed out to 10 Gbps, most of the USB ports and SD Card Readers etc., you will get, are normally 5 Gbps with some advanced one offers one Gen 2 10 Gbps port. Since, the bandwidth is shared among all the ports, you will never get full speed if you use more than one ports simultaneously.
Now in Thuderbolt 3 and 4, 32Gbps is the max bandwidth from 4 PCIe lanes directly from the CPU + 8 Gbps reserved for Display Out using Type-C DP Alt protocol. It is very easy to get proper TB3 or TB4 docks which almost works as Plug & Play. Most offer at least two Display Out, multiple Type-C and Type-A ports and some with 10 Gbps bandwidth and UHS-II high speed card readers. As a result, if you are a developer or working on various productivity tasks, need to transfer big amount of data, photos, videos etc. among your devices, TB 3 and TB 4 docks are extremely useful.
I, personally use a budget Startech Thunderbolt 3 docking station + normal Type-C Gen 2 Hub to connect to two 4K monitors, couple of external SSD storages and card Readers. Most TB3 or TB4 docks offer a out Thunderbolt 3/4 port as well, to extend the connection to another Type-C or Thunderbolt device. I simply connect another budget Type-C Hub on that port, to get one extra display port and couple of USB ports.
Now, regarding TB3 and TB4, there is no bandwidth difference as both supports max of 40 Gbps. However, for TB 4, Power Delivery is mandatory and it uses Multiplexing to provide better stability and bandwidth to each of the ports when multiple devices are connected simultaneously.
I'm like everyone else and looking for better for $1200-1400. But this seems well priced currently in June 2021 for these specs.
It looks like one of the best gaming laptop prices of the year for 3060/3070, top 5 maybe.
Laptop GPU rankings show 3070mq is between 13 and 17th best.

I know everyone else trashing this deal wishes it was November/December 2021 already, so they could see more choices with Ryzen and max-p, 4k etc,, and this 3070 max-q with last gen i7 might be priced around $1100 or less.
Other prior competitive 3060/3070 deals from past months that costed $1300-1500+
