These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.
Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.
Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.
FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.
806 credit score, solid income, 2500 limit . Had planned on stretching a large 10k expense and WF have the hard no against an increase. Card will sit in a drawer after the promo period.. bad luck for them since I was gonna make my daily driver. Sticking with Citi for now. Open wisely if u need a decent limit
I applied on 10/16, was approved, received my card within a week and have already had some rewards post, although not the bonus associated with the initial spend. It's all gone quite smoothly for me, but maybe that's because I was an active Wells Fargo customer. My credit score had been 850 just a few weeks prior to applying for this card, but I had recently started carrying some balances on a couple of other cards due to some zero interest promotions they are running, which caused my score to drop into the 820-830 range. Perhaps that was beneficial in terms of getting approved for this card.

Just keep paying your cell phone bills as it does provide the cell phone damage insurance with $25 deductible.

Will they tell me I'm officially approved on the spot? I did the soft prequalify and they told me what I would qualify for and the limit and than when I did the official application it says they will mail me the results. Usually they will tell you right away your approved but I have never used first national bank.
anyone has experience with cellphone coverage claim? If my iPhone screen gets cracked, how easy is it to get money back? also Im paying tmobile family plan. Everyone in my family are eligible for this cellphone coverage?
are they seriously still in business? I thought they just opened up accounts for you anyways so you don't even need to sign up to bank on this deal...
smh...
Sorry Wells Fargo - but you still suffer from a lack of trust...
You do realize I posted that back in July... and only a few months later (ie in Sept 2021, they got fined again for $250 million...
Do you think that's coming out of the executive compensation or their customers?
I current have the cash wise 1.5% and platinum 1%. I charge everything on the cash wise and then transfer the cash back balance to the platinum which gives me 50% more value towards air fare. So if I transfer $300 of my cash back, I get $450 worth of points towards airfare which essentially 2.25% cash towards travel. Does anybody know if this new card will allow the cash back transfer to the platinum card to convert to 1.5x towards flights? That would essentially make it 3% which is pretty sweet. I haven't called but I couldn't find anything online so far.
I dont think this card comes with benefits like the Wells Fargo Cash wise. This only has cell phone protection but no extended warranty nor price protection.
I don't think you can get price protection anymore and most cards do offer some type of extended warranty so this one might too.

Reason they give is too much credit already. I've never defaulted, no negative credit report, no missed payments in decades.
It's ok though since they're known to create accounts without customer knowledge. 🤣
