These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.
Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.

Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.
FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.

Citi DC you can take the rewards as thank you points, and combined with other citi cards get better than 1:1 value out of em....(quite a bit more if used for travel in some cases)

I have Citi DC as well, but did not find the Thank You points to be a better value than the cash. Perhaps I'm not looking at this correctly and may need to revisit it...

I love my fidelity Visa card. I thought I was getting 2%. I looked at my account and you are correct. 3% on everyday purchases. YAY !!!

This is in Fidelity professionally managed accounts, correct? What is the management fee?

Just having $2 million+ in Fidelity accounts doesn't qualify.

Saw this offer pop up in the news and was waiting for it to go live. Good deal with extra perks is a win for my bank account!

Yep, Wells Fargo has definitely had negative things going on in the past. However, if you stopped dealing with every company who had negative/media issues I'm not sure who you would be working with at this point?

I agree. Just because Wells Fargo was apparently actively stealing homes from people (they especially targeted female homeowners) doesn't mean they're corrupt, "just a few bad apples." That's why I have no problem with just "fining" murders, rapists and burglars too. A fine is such a huge deterrent.

Read the fine print on the Cell Phone Protection - it specifically does not cover "Electronic Damage" such as electronic failure of the phone or a failed battery.

Practically speaking it looks like the Cell Phone Protection is only applicable for thefts or physical damage that impacts the operation of the phone.

Additionally the protection plan only covers *after* you file with your personal *primary* form of loss protection (such as homeowners insurance, renters insurance, etc). If you have an existing policy that covers your phone already, this protection plan can only be used to cover the cost of the deductible of your existing loss protection.

Also note that the clam is limited to $600 per incident, up to twice within a 2 month period (less $25 deductible per incident). $600 is not enough to cover replacement many high-end phones that seem to start around the $700-800 range these days.

If, like me, you were thinking about getting this card for the Cell Phone Protection benefits, you will need to consider these terms carefully. For me I didn't think it was worth it.

well, the "simple" way used to be when you could stack Prestige and Premier hotel bonuses to get roughly 1.5 cents a point for hotel bookings... (1.25c via premier bonus, and 4th night free from prestige)

The Premier bonus is gone now though, so there's still the option to get 1.25c/pt via Prestige 4th night free if you happen to be booking 4 night-- effectively giving you 2.5% cash-equivalent instead of the 2% you get as cash with normal DC redemption.

The higher value, but more work, option is transferring to airline partners- value can significantly exceed the hotel option but will depend on the airline and the travel you're looking to book.

Has Wells Fargo improved their atrocious online portal yet? My Wells Fargo Cash Wise card is the only one without a proper auto-pay feature. Like are you kidding? It's 2021. Even the cs rep on the phone was confused when I tried to ask about where I could find the feature.

I had no trouble setting up auto-pay, but I had existing accounts with Wells Fargo. I can't speak from a new customer perspective.

Fact:

"They still have the dreaded $25 INCREMENTS when getting your CASHBACK, that even American Express who popularized it, dropped it recently, as it is very stupid to still have that, at this time, period."

IF they will follow and copy Capital One, Discover, Chase, a Bank of America, etc.. that has NO MINIMUM CASHBACK with NO Foreign Transactions fee, then I'll get ANY of their cards in a heartbeat, as my credit score is hovering from 835 - 850 (FICO & Vantage Scoring) for 10 straight years.

(I have exact 30 credit cards that all still active until now, and I started to have my 1st one, on my 18th years of age, and now I'm 45)

Have a great day to y'all!

(Advance Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year)

I have 5 AMEX cards, and they dropped the $25 "INCREMENTS" already.

Now, it has the $25 "MINIMUM" Cashback , but you can get it now in ANY denominations after $25 (like $26 and so on.

What kind of AMEX card you have?

Call the 1800 hotline, and they will tell you more…

Have a great day!

Sorry I was not clear earlier. I meant the 25 minimum. Other CCs you mentioned does not even have that minimum. Amex should follow them and do it that way imo

My Amex has the $25 minimum to redeem. Would be nice if I could redeem cash back in any amount.

Same 2% cash back, but 3 months SHORTER on the 0%. Kinda a big deal for me. I need a new card to put my furnace and compressor on…about 11K. Any suggestions besides this one?
