I would hope they have better prices, since it will be Grey Market. You won't get a warranty, won't be an authorized product to ever receive help from Nikon if something goes wrong. That's best case scenario. Worst case is bullied into paying more for a non-Grey market product that you still won't get warranty from since they aren't an authorized seller (but hey you get to at least pay out of pocket for repairs).
How about you buy from Abe's and report back to us in month how it went....lol
lol.... You haven't been paying attention. Canon is in trouble of being the next Olympus. Nikon will do what Nikon needs to do to stay competitive. Cellphones have killed a huge portion of the camera world and Nikon can't sustain being some premium priced pro-sumer brand built in Japan.
Sony killed their Japan production after the last SLT was released in 2016...Alpha series now made in Thailand.
Panasonic in China. Fuji only makes their top end in Japan AND China combined parts.
Canon still makes half their cameras in Japan and their price for quality is taking a hit. Sooner or later they will kill Japanese production either to maintain price and improve value, or to reduce price and maintain value.
Last one to learn is the next Olympus... and it's not Nikon right now.
Constant f/4 aperture across the zoom range, better focus motor, and a better optical quality makes it a better lens from 24-70mm.
The other lens has the benefit of having the 70-200mm zoom range on one lens.
Its a tradeoff between what you value more.

Bought last week for the same price from B&H ....but came with a better bag, the Peak Design Everyday Sling and a better memory card. The UHS-II class Extreme Pro, but its free so whatever. Now, that I've had the Z5 for a few days, I can tell it's about the best deal Nikon has ever run. At least for the last 20 years. If you are on the fence - grab it!
Nikon will close all factories in japan to save cost after huge loss year after year. it is possible that they will be the next Olympus. if you start fresh, you might want to choose between Canon or Sony.

Nikon opened their factory in Thailand almost 20 years ago, and has been gradually shifting production there from Japan. Last year they started doing final assembly of all cameras in Thailand, which generated some "Nikon no longer makes cameras in Japan" headlines, but they still make a lot of camera parts in Japan. They also closed two small factories in Japan but not the main one in Sendai. All this is perfectly normal consolidation and offshoring.
Better prices at abesofmaine.com ... at least if you look at the Z7 price.
I'm considering Z7 or Z6ii + lens + ZTF and have searched all options. Abe's <$2600 for either (a la cart).
I can't speak to the Z5/Z6 as it has not been the focus of my pricing search

Any idea why 24-70mm lens has more money compare to 24-200mm ?
