Still wondering where all these new Pixel phones of various prior models are coming from.
Market seems flooded with tons of them recently

I spoke with my friend Loki. He said these new Pixel phones are variants.

I had my phone for +2 years without any screen issues, even though I dropped it twice and front/back are cracked.

I'm not sure "everyone hated this panel". There definitely were a couple issues with the display when you looked for them but I was very happy with this phone for the ~3 years I used it. I now have upgraded to the 5 but the difference between the two is minimal during everyday use. It's still a great phone for anyone who doesn't need the latest technology.

They had the 3 XL 64gb for $180 almost a week ago. both are old phones but the 3 is a year newer and at least has a few months left of software updates.

This price has me tempted. Thinking of selling my unopened 2020 Moto Power and grabbing this Pixel 2XL to backup my Galaxy S9+. Besides battery life, it looks like the 2XL is better then the Power in every single way and they'll both end on Andrioid 11. Watcha think?

Is this worth it to use as just a camera? I'm looking for a nice pocket camera but phones are the way to go with built in editing apps and such. I have one of the cheap galaxy phones as my main. I'd like a nice camera around this price point.

Is this phone still getting security updates? If not - how are people keeping phone activity safe from hacking?

The major complain of this phone (2 XL) is the blue color cast of the display. The camera is one of the best from 2017. It'll blow the cheap and old galaxy phones out of the water any day of the week. But, because of the color distortion, it's not a good idea using photo editing on this phone.

Ah that's really unfortunate. I'd love a stand alone camera that was the exact profile as a phone! I know I'm one of a few out there, but if I could just have an android digital camera I'd be a really happy camper! I've been considering an older iPhone or maybe a pixel 3 for my needs. Any suggestions for sub $150 range? As a designated device, so I don't care about other features.
