This phone reached End Of Life last year in December. Please read this article before you decided to purchase a device that doesn't get any updates or bug fixes.

FYI.
Pixel 1 and Pixel 2/2xl do not work on Visible Wireless. It's a known issue.
Can get data, but no voice or MMS even with the correct APN settings.
I just picked up an unlocked 2xl from WOOT, and Visible Wireless is a no-go.

The model number is GA00138-US which is the US factory unlocked 128 GB black model, so it should be possible to unlock the bootloader. Only the Verizon variants of the Pixels have permalocked bootloaders.

Careful with Pixels they are pushing the latest in wifi security on all their phones, which means some people at work wont be able to connect to work wifi cause of the businesses not using the latest level of wifi security. Its a horrible google decision, and it has stopped me from getting any future pixels cause a global organization wont upgrade a whole network across the globe just cause of one phone trying to be special.

I actually bought the 128gb 3xl from B&H when it went on sale a few weeks ago and I could not be happier with my $200 purchase. I know the 3xl is outdated as its already a 3 year old phone but at 200 it's been a great phone so far. The 2xl is bordering on too outdated.
Now you are going on a phone that's been sitting around for 4 years. How much battery life is left? I guess if you are desperately in need of a temp phone to hold you over for a year then this should do the trick.

Sprint/T-Mobile customers beware, I have yet to hear if the Pixel 2 will work with the TNX SIM, currently the 3's & 4's don't but will sometime summer. But haven't heard anyone ask or get an answer from an employee in the know about the 2's or even the OG.

Maybe. But for $15 more you can get a Pixel 3. Aside from having a slightly better camera, the non-XL size will be more pocket friendly, especially if you're already carrying another phone. The pink color might not be your jam, but a cheap case can remedy that.

FWIW, I rocked a Pixel 2 for over 3 years until I upgraded just a couple months ago. It's a great phone and and great camera. The only negative I found was that the mic sucks for recording video. If you just want to shoot stills, or maybe quick videos of family & friends, it'll be fine. But if you want to record live music, interviews, or anything where you care about audio quality, you'll want to grab an external mic.
