The "lifetime" membership is back on sale. $122.50 for 500 GB and $245 for 2 TB storage. Of course the company can shut down anytime but this deal has been popular for the last few years. https://www.pcloud.com/4thJuly-20...uly%202021
Just use cryptomator for end to end encryption. It's free and works like a charm. I "donated" for a key because I wanted to support them and the ocd in me had to get rid of the little notification badge in the ui.
Why store the data in the EU? Privacy? If that's the case, encryption solves that…
cryptomator looks like a shell for encfs. if so, it's slow and on windows at least, not reliable because the mount keeps disconnecting.
Just don't trust any "lifetime" online service. Once they got enough "lifetime" users, most of them will shut down their business and set up a new company and new service names. Got some very bad experiences on VPN services. As a cloud storage, I'll stick on Google drive.
PureVPN does not even shut down company. They simply disable your lifetime account. It is a total scam!
What kinda things do you store on cloud for which you need TB worth of space? I am just curious cos I don't like storing personal photos of videos on cloud. I own 20 TB worth of hard disks and they just basically are all my media drives.
blue iris 24/7 video feeds stored in 5 mimute increments. screw subcription-based cameras!
Bought this last black friday after news that google would stop unlimited photos uploads. The service is pretty reliable. Automatically backups photos and also linked online accounts. Wish the app had a bit more features like document scan.

For me I only back up things I can't lose which only ends up being personal photos and videos. I value my privacy so I also encrypt my backups. If you follow the 3-2-1 backup rule these cloud storage services fit really well with that strategy.
If you want a Google/Apple like cloud photo service getting your own NAS is the way to go. You can then have a personal cloud for photos and still utilize encrypted backups to a cheap cloud storage provider.
Personally I have a Synology NAS and subscribe to M365 for OneDrive storage since I also like using Office apps and they integrate well to Microsoft's cloud storage for easy document management between devices.

M365 is also a pretty good deal at around $50/year on sale for 6TB (family).

Google too has history of shutting down its products.

I will google it later, but how does cryptomator compare to veracrypt / Truecrypt? I know that the NSA took it over Truecrypt when that issue happened years ago or at least that was the theory... but I thought Veracrypt was still considered fine?

So, you are storing your BI data in pCloud? Interesting concept and the service is fast enough to keep up that data? How much are you uploading a month?
I am curious since I easily fill up 2TB of data on my BI (720 stream 24/7 and 2-4K stream on activity) in 5-14 days depending on what's going on.

Will they disappear one day...maybe, but it's been great to have thus far.

There's an upsell but it does not show the difference in features

Ymmv , 2 TB is only $16 on fastest VPN for one year or five years with one time use coupon plus lifetime VPN.
If the VPN traffic can save to your file directly that would be perfect for Blue Iris etc.
