I have dual sim and my texts get sent from the wrong carrier

Samsung needs to enable the esim functionality on the S20/S21 but Verizon and ATT wont let them

Did you check your Cellular settings? On iPhone it lets you select carrier for voice line and carrier for data.

The voice line defaults who you use to make calls and create new text with by default.

In the messages app, when you create a message you can select which carrier you are going to send with on the fly. Defaulting to your voice line first.

For ongoing conversations/replies it uses whatever number you originally used/received from.

This does not seem to work correctly. I have Visible on my physical sim and T-Mobile Connect plan on my eSim. Visible is set as default for everything yet if I initiate a brand new text it goes through T-Mobile. If I have a text I migrated over my Samsung phone , that contact goes to T-Mobile. I dont always see the option to change

Also, do the colors of the contact indicate which line the sms is using?

T-Mobile's giving away 30-day data plans to try out their service. You can sign up to get a free hotspot (once every 6 months), or you can get on the plan rightaway if you have a newer iPhone with eSIM
how do I get the PIN to port

I'm confused are you trying to do this on a Samsung or iPhone? Cause iPhone dual sim all the options are there.

You are doing it a little differently, I'm using my original carrier and you seem to be wanting to use visible.

iPhone defaults to last carrier used for contacts. So that is probably why it is sending through T-Mobile.

You can change this by going into contacts and selecting always use visible for that contact or changing the carrier on the fly in the messages app when you create a new text.

The option to select carrier is at the top of the messages text app. It defaults to last carrier and if you click on it, you can select a different one

It was defaulting to my secondary sim (on IPhone) which is TMobile (Visible is where my numbers is) - I actually found the setting in main settings menu under Messages there is an option to select default carrier for new messages. I was originally looking in Cellular/Cellular Data menus.

One thing I cant figure out how to do is to change carrier for existing conversation - the bar does not appear to choose sim
