i'm thinking of getting one for my son as a first phone. I know it's fast enough for what he'll use it for and cheap enough that if he breaks it, it won't be that bad to replace it. I would rather a Pixel 3xl at this price, but I'll take what I can get.
*I understand that it means the pixel 2 xl is not all that powerful compared to new phones, but I still have mine from 2017, though it's just my backup now from when I got my 5 late last year.

It at least has USB C, is it a great deal? No. Fair price for decent specs sure. I wouldn't buy it at this price, half this price absolutely if I needed a phone.
I still have my Galaxy S3, works too.
Phones work better in my experience than tablets.. I also am in the same boat, my work also makes me install an app(intune company portal) that takes over everything as an admin app, so I am using a cricket iphone SE 2020 without a sim card and as wifi only for my work, leaving my personal phone alone(pixel 4 Jr 64gb)
That deal may not be around at this exact moment, but Woot has had several deals on Pixel phones in recent months so I wouldn't be surprised if it comes back.
Also, for those who don't mind used, just looking at sold ebay listings, there are several excellent condition 3XLs that have sold in the past few days for $110-$130 and some are still available at those prices, though most of them are 64gb.
Personally, I would much rather go for a used or open box 3XL at these prices but I also see the appeal for those who want to pay a little more for a brand new phone with 128gb of storage.
Buying a Used cell phone with a non removable battery is like lighting up a cigarette you already put out earlier. Woot doesn't replace the battery so yeah I'd much rather pay for new and know the battery is in 100% new and working condition.

Google is not still manufacturing Pixel 2 series phones. New or used, the battery in a Pixel 2/XL is going to be ~5 years old since the Pixel was released in 2016, unless it was refurbished.
