Just going to copy and paste:

So, as an FYI, this thing uses highly deceptive advertising. Blueair and WINIX use the recommended 4.8 air exchange per hour rating to state their square footage (AKA, an air exchange every 12.5 minutes).

Coway, on the other hand, is using 2 air exchanges per hour to reach the 1,560 square footage. Hence why the CADR doesn't match the hyper inflated claim.
The reality is that this is good for more like 650 Sq ft for the 4.8 air exchanges per hour. Thus, it is slightly inferior to running two C535s at the same time (360 Sq ft each @ 4.8 exchanges).

So, it's a good filter for a big room, but it's not some massively superior filter like they want to make it seem. At this price you're approaching the cost of buying 2-3 C535s, but you need to weigh in the cost of filters.

What is the cost of filters for c535 vs. those for this one?

I've had this unit running almost non-stop for 18 months in my open kitchen/living room. Seems to do a good job, I also don't have a kitchen exhaust that vents outside, so it kicks on all the time when the kitchen gets smoky as well. I have no complaints.

Doesn't hurt that it looks pretty nice, too.

This unit has a CADR of 350cfm which is quite meager for its price. Just for comparison, various popular Winix models have CADR of around 240 - delivering 70% of its efficacy at 30% of its price.

I've also had this running in my living room/kitchen(roughly 600 sqft) for 2 years straight, and it's been working wonderfully.

I have two of these. One is upstairs and one is in the basement. They both seem to do a terrific job. Both of my floors are pretty wide open and approximately 1800 square feet each. I would purchase these again. I cannot speak to the comments related to air flow or efficiency but these seem to work really well.

These numbers don't lie BUT they also leave out something important - This CADR 350 cfm at max fan is still quiet enough to have a conversation next to it. But one Winix @ CADR 240 cfm at max fan is distractingly loud. IMHO thats the biggest advantage of this filter - "noise-per-CADR" is great. Agree "$-per-CADR" is not the best.

The CADR rating is the same as the Blueair pure 211 and the Honeywell hpa5300b. Yet both of those cost less at full price than this coway on clearance.

We have this air purifier and can confirm it will work with a smart plug to turn on/off with your phone or voice via alexa/google home.

I have it set to a routine to run when we go to bed. Owned it for 2 years and happy with it

No. There is no UV or sterilizer in this system it's just filter powered air purifier.

It's a pretty good one though.

Honestly you probably don't want O-zone generators, they can be harmful long term. If you use one try to limit it to when no one (including pets) are home and wait a few minutes before coming in.

The biggest issue with this unit is the cost of the filters. They are definitely much more expensive than competitors.

But these are POWERFUL and really quiet at the two lower speeds. I use one to cool a server rack actually, its about 3 years now and its still dust free and cool.

The annual filter cost from Costco's deal is around $89 a year for two purifiers. It's around $95 for the single filter for this on Amazon, $117 from Coway's website.

Is it just a large fan with a filter? I assume people with the central air would not need that.
