Here's the gold standard: https://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Lu...B00267SFKC

Had excruciating back pain 19 years ago, diagnosed with spondylolisthesis. Required full lower spinal fusion. Pain on and off for the last 17 years after the surgery. Used this brace and various other accessories (lumbar support for sitting) with decent results. Pain got worse last year - not quite debilitating. Went to neurosurgeons and orthos, thinking I needed surgery again. Was sent to physical therapy to strengthen core and lower body muscles. Thought it was BS insurance excuse. Was totally wrong, pain is almost all gone, and all I have to do is the PT exercises for 10 min a day. Thanks. for. coming. to. my. ted. talk.

Probably not enough, as slouching is mostly in the upper back.

Want to really stop slouching?

Lose your belly.

Use a small pillow behind your lower back when seated in a chair with a back to it.

Study a diagram on desk/office ergonomics, and emulate it.

If you've got free weights, you can try bent-over flys, to strengthen your upper back muscles ..... check with your primary doc to ensure your healthy enough to handle that.

I occasionally have lower back issues, I have tried these and find they do very little to alleviate the pain, they simply act to reinforce/stabilize the area.

The things I have tried and continue to use that help significantly are:
-back stretcher (this is the one I am using - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PK7LYBC)
-tens unit (any brand will work as they all do the same thing, just make sure that it is compact and has an internal battery)
-massage ball (this is the one I have at home https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YN1TJWM)
-salonpas patches

edit: I almost forgot the waist belt I recently discovered, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RXKWXHT
My father has a slipped disc and this belt has worked wonders for his back pain

I'm wondering if this might help me sit better while working. I don't know, all the photos are of people standing.

my lower back hurts all the time, will this help?

At this point I'm willing to try anything, i just ordered a virgin to sacrifice it to see if it helps
I turned down a discectomy because I asked the dr if he could quantify the chances of improvement, and he said he couldn't. When it came time to bill the insurance, I'll bet he could have come up with a number.

Anyone tried this? My sciatic nerve has messed up my back, and now I'm told I have scoliosis. Any comments would be appreciated.

If you're having lower back pain keep moving! It's counter intuitive but it's the only thing that works. I've got pretty severe degenerative disc disease and strength training alongside yoga has made it so I don't think about my back much at all (except while working out). Recently started CrossFit as well and the heavy lifting has actually helped! Proper form of course. Deadlifts hurt the first few weeks but my body adapted and I'm feeling pretty good these days.

I would like to add Whiskey to your list, for the bad days.

P.S. My hope for a back brace is to hopefully defend against further damage, rather than to relieve pain.

Add this to the list of things that work
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RXKWXHT, it is an inflatable decompression waist belt.

I 100% agree with you on the whiskey actually being my go to pain relief. I barely ever have a drink socially but I do have a fully stacked bar of liquor for guests. On the bad days, I take two shots of whiskey and Advil or Motrin. You really shouldn't mix alcohol with medicine but if you have serious back pain you'll understand why it's ok here and there.

Thanks for the comment. I had a similar experience with an upper back pain a few years ago, however this time I haven't been able to make it go away with exercise, maybe I just haven't found the right ones (did it on my own, without going to a therapist, etc)

There's a reason CrossFit didn't make it. I would always see everyone doing pull ups looking like dolphins. I have been lifting most of my life and all it takes is a bad move and it's all over. Lol.

send it to SD instead, they have more money what with all of the sponsored postings and their clickthrough commissions ("If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.")
