This is a superb deal for this highly premium laptop which can be a Developers/Content creator's dream laptop. Yes, the RTX 3080 is a 105W TGP variant but at this thin & light design, that is what you can get due to thermal restriction and slimmer chassis. And this laptop is not designed for gamers in the first place.
Currently this price is available from Newegg and some other sellers as well. However, the advantage of buying from Adorama is that if you're not in NY and NJ, they don't charge Tax. So, high chance that you'll be saving good amount depending on your state's tax rate.
Cool, how come they're able to not charge tax but Newegg is? Just wondering
They charge tax at almost all states. Also, the mail-in rebate take long times. If you can hold, wait till black Friday. There are nearly 3m NV graphic card would appear in second hand market. It will distroy current price tag even laptops.
Can't speak for the laptop itself but GB support has been known to be below average. In my personal experience and the majority that Ive seen in the internet, GB is very slow to respond to support tickets.
Just something to consider it you want to buy this laptop.

Umm this is not the case anymore. CT and FL used not have sales tax, but they do now. Florida changed on July 1
The 4K OLED panel by samsung on this is definitely very tempting however I keep hearing of reports of spotty wifi on the gigabyte Aero models dating back several years so I'm a bit wary of something so basic that still hasn't been fixed yet...
Does anyone have experience with an RTX 3080 16 GB DDR6 versus a 3080 8 GB DDR6 when it comes to content creation (3D and video editing/ rendering) or can someone post me to a comparison online?
I guess I'm wondering if the limited TDP of 105W will limit any benefits of the 16 GB DDDR6 variant over the 8 GB DDR6 version for this particular laptop when it comes to content creation.
Or does the TDP limit only come into play during gaming?

This is a low watt 3080, so it would perform similar to a full watt 3060/70?
