Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Actually, every counterfeit board game I've ever bought was "sold and shipped by Amazon". The third-party sellers who deal in high numbers of counterfeit games store their games in Amazon facilities, where Amazon generally doesn't separate the ones they got from legitimate distributors from the nearly identical ones they get from the counterfeit dealers.
My in-person board game group with over 500 board games between us and various random people I meet weekly at board game meetups must all be nobody then. Not to mention the thousands of people that frequent BoardGameGeek and various other board game related websites. Oh and I guess board game stores exist for no reason, but definitely not because people frequent them.

No offense chief but its nearly 2022; absolutely nobody plays board games anymore. With that being said I had to thumb down the thread.
The several successful board game cafes and pubs in my town alone would beg to differ. In fact board games have increased in popularity significantly over the past few years. Time to come out from under that rock.
Tempting, bought this for a friend years ago, we loved playing it. Would be nice to get it for myself, but not a fan of the possibility of getting a knock-off or counterfeit
It has been happening for a while. The problem is Amazon throws every 3rd party in the same pile. So seller 1,2,3 might be legit but seller 4 throws in their counterfeit games. So it a lotto on which you get. They're usually not much different other than the way the cards are cut or the colors are off a bit or the tokens aren't as well centered. But it is obviously hurting the publisher as well.
Is this realistic? or do I have to buy the expansion pack as well?
There are three expansions (On the brink, in the lab, and state of emergency). The expansions are all decent but you don't need them.
It is a very good game and does feel like you are fighting a disease.
I would start with the base game. Then if you like it, skip the expansions and just get Pandemic Legacy Season 1. It takes regular pandemic and adds an overarching story with twists and some new gameplay elements. It takes most people about 16 games to play through the whole story. There are two more seasons if you enjoy that.
There are also some other great spinoff games. Pandemic Iberia and Pandemic Cthulhu are both very good.
+1 for the recommendation to play the Legacy seasons if you like the original....though worth noting all 3 seasons are very different... (Season 1 is kind of like regular pandemic at the start, but with the overall story and then adding some new ideas.... Season 2 is set significantly later, again overall story but gameplay is more different from base game.... Season 0 is set in the past and again more different from the core game)
