Yups. Commingled inventory.
It is a very good game and does feel like you are fighting a disease.
I would start with the base game. Then if you like it, skip the expansions and just get Pandemic Legacy Season 1. It takes regular pandemic and adds an overarching story with twists and some new gameplay elements. It takes most people about 16 games to play through the whole story. There are two more seasons if you enjoy that.
There are also some other great spinoff games. Pandemic Iberia and Pandemic Cthulhu are both very good.
Next thing you know, they'll use simulated physical violence as a form of entertainment!
