guess I have to wait then... I just signed up for xfinity mobile for the $25 back (usually it's $50 so already got screwed over there...) and going to do the 1gb plan for a month or two.
Eh or I could buy this, do just the 1 month at xfinity, then it's like xfinity paid me to take their service for a month, them activate this... so I'd have 1 month xfinity and 3 months mint mobile for a combined $17.50.
Unless I am not allowed to port for x days? The xfinity guy acted like I could port back out whenever, but they tell me a lot of bad info...
edit: I see nothing from the fcc saying you must wait x days before porting, but et some people claim you must stay with a current provider for 90 days first.

Activate is done with the physical SIM card, after u activate the SIM card, you can switch to esim on mint app
Is it possible to do what you mentioned - get an esim registered with Mint, and then let the plan lapse for a period, and then come back months later and "renew" the plan and re-use the esim? Or do I need to get a new sim/esim if I let my plan lapse? I know the number changes when I let the plan lapse and come back, I just want the convenience of not having to get a new Mint SIM card to put into the phone. It would be convenient if it's just an online operation of renewing the plan associated with the esim.

You can contact Mint Mobile by online website chat or telephone and provide them the activation code for the kit and they will kindly activate eSim service for you! I know this because I recently did this.
Also for returning customers, who may have ported their number out elsewhere and wish to return. Checked with Mint Mobile customer service and they confirmed this.
