We have an acquaintance that works at Samsung in Plano, TX who a few months ago said that they'll use the chip shortage as the reason not to come out with a new Note but that they already have no intention of doing anymore work on future Note phones. The chip shortage is just a convenient excuse to consolidate the phone lines.

Kind of sad to be honest, I LOVE the Note series. I've had a 4, 8 and now 10+. I guess it's going to be a while till I upgrade again. In all honesty I use the stylus very little, I mainly like the square-ish shape larger screen/battery and the spec bump they usually received.

Your friends must be extremely clumsy 😛. I've had Fold 2 since release day and it looks brand new. No issue with screen or folding mechanism.

I'm not sure if I'm mis-remembering, but when looking at the Z-Fold 2 site, it seems as though the trade-in values have changed. I remember seeing higher values for my Z-Flip a few dayts ago compared to now.

I'd say the most I'd pay out of pocket after trading in my zfold 2 is $300 max. If I stoll have to dish out more than that I'm very happy with my zfold 2. Anytime I pull it out everyone looks and the media consumption on it is by far the best experience I've even had with a phone.

Just traded in (last month) a Galaxy S8+ on a new S21+ because of a promised $250 credit. After mailing it back, received 2 blurry photos of my old phone w/arrows pointing to the 'cracked lens' and 'cracked camera lens'. Rebate was dropped to $50.
After complaining that no such 'cracks' exist, Samsung's reply was basically "Take it or leave it".

Thought there was an option to get your old phone back. In any case, take multiple pictures of your old phone before mailing it to Samsung, including the IMEI in case there is a dispute on the phone condition. Realize this is not of much use to your issue but this advice is for everyone else considering a trade.

I hate how they don't offer more for the trade in on the higher specked phones. I have a note 20 ultra 512gb and S7+ 512gb and it's going to have to be something really compelling for me to want to trade them in.
